Magnum TA vs. Nikita Koloff (Match 6) (WWW 8/16/86)

- Magnum controls the early portion and he channels Ron Garvin in twisiting Nikita up. He even attempts an Indian Death lock on the arm. He refuses to let go of the arm, hangs onto Nikita onto the outside and rams the arm into the ringpost. Fucking sweet. We miss Nikita regaining control during the commercial break. Still, during the remainder of the match, everytime Nikita has control, Magnum finds a way to end up hurting the arm to stop the punishment. The ref bump and restart was unnecessary but when Magnum pins Nikita, it is one of the biggest pops I have ever heard in the NWA. The crowd is goiong fucking NUTS! I love this match.

Disc 3

Kansas Jayhawks vs. Baron Von Raschke & Black Bart (JIP)

- The Baron isn't very good at this point in his career. We only get about 6 minutes of this and I don't really care to watch this again.

Russians Interview

Buddy Landell vs. Sam Houston

- Landel squashes Houston

Jimmy Garvin vs. Jimmy Valiant

- Valiant gets counted out in about 20 seconds.

Dusty Rhodes vs. Ric Flair (Pro 8/23/86)

- Dusty stays on offense for about the first ten minutes of this match allowing Flair to stooge and bump and keeps the amtch interesting as Dusty is playing it up. It also helps that the crowd is fucking HOT for this. The backstory is that Dusty's leg is hurt but as long as he was on offense, he wasn't in trouble but once Flair gains advantage, he attacks the leg. This also has the infamous Baby Doll turn and eventually ends in a DQ as Dusty attacks Flair with a chair. Shit, this has been my favorite Dusty-Flair match so far. The crowd was hot, you have the Baby Doll turn and these guys kept everyting exciting. I am nominating this.

Midnight Express vs. Rock N Roll Express

- Damn, this thing was smoking until it ended abruptly with a DQ on the MX. The crowd is fucking INSANE for this. Still, I can't vote for this.

Dusty-Flair Recap

Ric Flair Interview (First interview w/ Baby Doll)

Dusty Rhodes Interview

- EXTRAS

Magnum TA vs. Nikita Koloff (Match 7 of 7)

- This is really wierd to watch as the first few minutes are a sped up version of the first ten minutes of match 6 complete with ramming the arm into the ringpost. However, after that spurt, it takes a differnt turn as Nikita focuses on destorying Magnum's back while MAgnum thorws everything at Nikita that he can. Holy shit moment for 1986 as Ivan prevents a Magnum tag so Magnum piledrives Uncle Ivan on the concrete floor!!! Khruschev prevents the ref from counting and ends up hitting Magnum with the chain for the win. I loved this one almost as much as Match 6 and it is a definite nomination in my book.

Nikita Post Match Celebration (include with match)

Championship Wrestling 8/9/86 or basically World Wide Wrestling 8/9/86

David gives Cornette shit about having to interview Dusty later on.

"Superstar" Bill Dundee & "Nature Boy" Buddy Landell vs. Todd Champion & Rocky Kernodle (8/3/86)

Landell gets the Corkscrew Elbow and Dundee hits the Bombs Away on Kernodle pretty quickly to win.

Magnum is out next with David Crockett talking about he is fighting his way back on winning the US Title. Magnum said that he has the country on his back and he must win. Extra material.

Bull & Valiant are out next talking about Jones trying to buy the Bull which both men said that it would never happen.

The Kansas Jayhawks (Bobby Jaggers & Dutch Mantell) vs. Golden Terror & Thunderfoot (8/3/86)

I loved Thunderfoot's blue and black outfit here but it wasn't enough to stop the Jayhawks from looking strong.

Ronnie Garvin is out next talking about he felt he has been robbed of being the National Champ and he is willing to put his career on the line if he loses.

"Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal vs. Rocky King (8/3/86)

Regal gets a good win here.

Cornette is hiding behind Bubba next as he has to interview Dusty or so he thought because they had a taped interview with Weaver which is the same deal they did on NWA Pro. Cornette is fun here. Extra material.

"Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin & Chief Wahoo McDaniel vs. Bill Mulkey & Mike Simani (8/3/86)

Garvin & Wahoo waste no time here putting these guys away.

Cornette interviews Flair next who talks about getting his NWA Title back and that Dusty's days are numbered. Extra material.

Paul Jones and his Army are with Cornette next gloating about shaving Valiant bald and Jones said that his offer to Manny Fernandez is there with more in the future.

Krusher Khruschev vs. Italian Stallion (8/3/86)

Stallion takes a nice bump to the floor trying a cross body block where he ended getting slammed by Krusher. Krusher then locks on a bearhug where Stallion submitted then Nikita came in and nailed him with a Russian Sickle as well.

Tully & Dillon are out next talking about Garvin whining and crying and that Tully is done with him looking for bigger and better things. Tully wants Dusty now.

The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Ole & Arn Anderson) vs. Vernon Deaton & Mark Fleming (8/3/86)

Deaton & Fleming just get mauled here.

Nikita & Krusher join Cornette next talking about coming for all of the titles especially ones that Dusty Rhodes has.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Gene Ligon & Randy Mulkey (8/3/86)

Gibson may be taped up but the RnR steamroll these guys. Andersons jump them though after the match and they work over Gibson's ribs again until Morton chases them off with a steel chair. Andersons then join Cornette for an interview but RnR would crash the scene and it's a wild brawl to the back where RnR chase them off. Morton comes back and said that the Andersons won't stop them from getting back the NWA World Tag Titles. Extra material.

World Championship Wrestling 8/9/86

Cornette opens the show talking about how his mother was in England and brought him back some glasses from Elton John and he demanded an apology from Dusty towards Big Bubba.

The Kansas Jayhawks (Bobby Jaggers & Dutch Mantell) vs. Bill Mulkey & Pat Myers (8/9/86)

Strong debut for the Jayhawks here.

RnR are out next for a promo talking about their problems with the Andersons and Gibson is wearing tape around his ribs thanks to them. Then we get clips of them brawling on World Wide.

Magnum is out next talking about how they are going to the 6th match in the Best of 7 series and that Magnum has now gotten it to a 3-2 deficit. Magnum is now very confident that he can win in the end.

"Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. Tony Zane (8/9/86)

Valiant is pissed so no dancing around the ring and he just manhandles Zane.

Dick Murdoch is out next wearing a Dick Murdoch shirt which was awesome and he talks about how he had to come to JCP to help everyone out against the heels. Baby Doll then comes out and said that she knows Murdoch will help her that night in St. Louis against Cornette.

The Warlord vs. George South (8/9/86)

Another squash for the Warlord.

Next we get clips of Dusty defending the NWA World Title against Flair in Kansas City on 8/7 where Tully comes out before the match and challenges Dusty for a shot at the title then helps Flair beat down Dusty after the match. Dusty also has a great promo from the locker room. Extra material.

"Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff & Krusher Khruschev vs. Randy Bryant & Bill Tabb (8/9/86)

Tabb tried to go toe to toe with the Russians but failed miserably.

Cornette interviews Paul Jones and the Army next about shaving Valiant bald and they are still celebrating. Jones also said that his big money offer to Manny Fernandez is still standing so he needs to think about it.

"Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch vs. Vernon Deaton (8/9/86)

It's Deaton's turn to eat a Brainbuster and he does.

Flair is out with Cornette next and he talks about how he won't be a former champion for long as he would be winning his title back very soon. Flair is promising that Dusty will be hurt really soon because everyone hates him. Flair is awesome here and this is extra material.

Cornette then has his boys the MX around him and he said that all of the tag teams in the area have no chance to beat them.

Sam Houston & Chief Wahoo McDaniel vs. Black Bart & Thunderfoot (8/9/86)

Bart & Thunderfoot have become kinda glorified jobbers at this point but they still had some credibility especially Bart so this was a competitive match with Houston doing a good job of working FIP. Wahoo got the hot tag and just dropped Thunderfoot with a chop to win. Really fun little TV match but not a nomination.

Cornette is then joined by the Andersons next who talk about putting Dusty out of wrestling as well as the RnR.

"Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal vs. Rocky King (8/9/86)

Regal is now the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champ and King gives him a go but Regal recovers and pus him away easily.

Cornette is joined by Nikita & Krusher next where they talk about all the new guys coming in trying to get them and Nikita sends a warning to Dusty to watch out.

The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Darrin Evans & Tom Pittman (8/9/86)

MX kills these guys and Cornette said that the promotion now has to find people semi-retarded to face them.

Tully & Dillon are out next talking about the Kansas City footage earlier and that none of that was deliberate and it just happened naturally. Tully said that he was in KC to buy some clothes.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Robert Burroughs & Pablo Crenshaw (8/9/86)

RnR win very quickly but are jumped by the Andersons after the match until Morton makes his own save.

Garvin & Precious are out next and he demands that Dusty come out and defend his NWA Title against him right then and there then takes a shot at Baby Doll as well as Murdoch.

"Nature Boy" Buddy Landell vs. Randy Barber (8/9/86)

Landell destroys Barber in seconds and then he along with Dundee cut a promo with Cornette afterwards.

Cornette then warns Dusty & RnR to close the show.

World Wide Wrestling 8/16/86

This starts with the clips of the Dusty/Flair/Tully stuff from Kansas City with a promo from Tully & Dillon about the situation.

Next we get the clips from St. Louis where Flair won the title back from the injured Dusty. Flair then comes out and gives shit to David Crockett who is pissed that Flair beat Dusty to win the title and Flair is awesome here talking about how Dusty lost and why he and the Horsemen rule the world. Extra material.

Then we get a promo with Paul Jones and his Army for the 8/28 show in Los Angeles.

Best of 7 Series - Match 6 for the US Heavyweight Title: Magnum TA vs. Nikita Koloff (8/10/86)

Magnum is down 3-2 so he must win here to stay alive. I loved Magnum working over Nikita's left arm early and it was just so odd watching Magnum work an actual match on TV not a squash match. We go to a break with Nikita starting to get some traction and we get a Dick Murdoch promo about Dusty losing the title to Flair which was good. We come back to the match where Nikita had Magnum in a rest hold but Magnum would send him to the corner shoulder first on the bad arm. Nikita though would come back with the Cobra Clutch and from there he starts working over Magnum's neck then we go to another break. We come back and Magnum hits Nikita with a desperation shot but Nikita would get Magnum back down with a rest hold. Magnum comes fighting back though throwing some bombs and he had Nikita pinned but Krusher put Nikita's foot on the rope. Nikita then rammed Magnum into Tommy Young sending him to the floor then he hit Magnum with the Russian Sickle but Young was on the floor. Roughhouse Fargo would run out to make the count but Magnum's foot was under the bottom rope right in front of Tommy's face. Tommy then told Fargo what happened and they reversed the decision with Magnum getting a Belly-To-Belly on Nikita to win the match as the fans went apeshit. This had two commercial breaks but it's a damn good match and it is a fairly easy nomination.

Next we get a promo from Flair with Cornette about the 8/28 show in Los Angeles where Flair namedrops his LA friends.

Cornette then calls out Baby Doll where he calls her a fat cow then demands an apology from Dusty. Cornette is amazing just ripping up Baby Doll then Bubba attacked Baby Doll which brought out Dusty where he gets jumped by the MX until the babyfaces pulled him off. Definite extra.

"Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch & The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Tully Blanchard & The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Ole & Arn Anderson) (8/10/86)

What a fucking match this is and we get just a little of it but it was fun as shit.

World Championship Wrestling 8/16/86

Cornette & Bubba start the show with Cornette talking about the deal from World Wide and he said that Dusty is going to pay dearly for touching Bubba.

The Kansas Jayhawks (Bobby Jaggers & Dutch Mantell) vs. Bill Mulkey & George South (8/16/86)

Another solid showing from the Jayhawks.

Next we get the Russians with Cornette where they send a warning to Dick Murdoch and talk about Magnum TA tying the Best of 7 Series. Ivan then talks about how Bob Geigel would be the special referee in the next match that night in Philadelphia.

Jimmy Valiant is out next in his serious voice where he says again that if he doesn't shave Paul Jones' head before the end of the year he would retire. Extra material.

The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. Pablo Crenshaw & Tom Pittman (8/16/86)

Total destruction.

Dick Murdoch is out next for a promo where he talks about his match with Flair the next day in Huntington, West Virginia and that he is ready for him.

Then we get the Flair/Tully/Dusty video again with Tully & Dillon talking about how there was no planning going on and everything happened naturally.

Next we get the St. Louis title change video with Flair then coming out in an AMAZING white suit where he looks like a cross between Sonny Crockett & Scarface talking about how great the NWA is and buries the WWF. Tremendous promo and a definite extra.

Roadies & Ellering are out for a promo next talking about all the awards they have won in their career and they talk about being the best then how they are going to ruin the Horsemen.

"Superstar" Bill Dundee vs. Vernon Deaton (8/16/86)

They show Houston Astros pitcher Charlie Kerfeld before the match since the Astros were in town. Dundee looks good here with Landell's help on the floor.

Then we get a special interview with Bill Apter & Dusty Rhodes talking about him losing the title. Dusty is really good here putting over everything involved. Definite extra.

Cornette is then joined by Paul Jones who talks shit on Valiant again and his offer for Fernandez.

Tully Blanchard & The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Ole & Arn Anderson) vs. Todd Champion, Sam Houston, & Italian Stallion (8/16/86)

The faces put up a decent fight here but the Horsemen overpowered them in every way.

"Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch vs. Tony Zane (8/16/86)

Easy win for Murdoch on his birthday.

Cornette is then joined by the Andersons talking about Dusty whining and crying saying the American Dream is dead for him.

The MX are out next with Cornette but they are in street clothes with Cornette talking about the World Wide angle with Dusty which is shown.

Ivan & Nikita Koloff, & Krusher Khruschev vs. Randy Barber, Clement Fields, & Paul Garner (8/16/86)

The Russians dominate these poor guys.

Next we get clips of the Magnum/Nikita match from World Wide.

Magnum TA is out next wearing a Hank Williams Jr. shirt with Baby Doll talking about being tied with Nikita and he said that he has the advantage now. Extra material.

Then we get clips of the Rock n Roll Express Super Summer Sizzler tour and this is extra material.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Art Pritts & Bill Tabb (8/16/86)

RnR look strong here.

The Four Horsemen are out in full with Cornette next where they promise to eliminate Dusty. Flair then talks about how each Horsemen put $10,000 down for a special diamond ring for JJ Dillon and they present it to him. This is a great segment and a definite extra.

NWA Pro Wrestling 8/23/86

The Kansas Jayhawks (Bobby Jaggers & Dutch Mantell) vs. Black Bart & Baron Von Rascke (8/17/86)

This is JIP and went to a draw. Good match for the Jayhawks to face two heels that had some cache.

Tony then interviews the angry Russians talking about Magnum evening up the series.

"Nature Boy" Buddy Landell vs. Sam Houston (8/17/86)

Houston came out firing at the bell jumping Landell and had him flustered but Budro would quickly recover and put Houston away with the Corkscrew Elbow. This only went a little over 3 minutes and I wanted more.

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin vs. "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant (8/17/86)

This is an interesting match but it only goes like 90 seconds when they brawled on the floor and Garvin posted Valiant then jumped back in the ring to win by countout.

NWA World Heavyweight Title: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair © vs. "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (8/17/86)

Baby Doll is dressed in a tux at ringside which was interesting for sure. This crowd in Charlotte was apeshit for Dusty and everything going on here as Dusty had Flair pinballing all over the ring forcing him to run away to the floor a few times to regroup. Dusty would get the Figure-Four on Flair and had him in serious trouble but Flair would break free by punching at Dusty's knee. Flair then started working over Dusty's knee which was an equalizer for him as Dusty was still having issues. Dusty though would fight back sending Flair to the floor where he posted him and brings out the juice. Dusty has Flair reeling and hits a big clothesline but Baby Doll puts Flair's foot on the bottom rope with Dusty looking shocked. Flair then clipped Dusty's knee again and locked on his own Figure-Four but Dusty reversed it almost until Baby Doll threw Flair back over. Dusty gets free and starts yelling at Baby Doll before he gets clipped again. Dusty then kicks Flair into Tommy Young sending him to the floor and now we have a slugfest until Baby Doll grabs a steel chair then comes in the ring where she tries to hit Dusty and missed. Dusty then grabbed the chair and used it on Flair's leg as the crowd is losing their mind. Tommy Young calls for the bell for a DQ as he sees Dusty with the chair. Tully then runs out and he uses the chair on Dusty until Magnum and RnR make the save. Baby Doll then leaves with Tully & Flair celebrating. This was an insane spectacle and this is a definite nomination.

World Wide Wrestling 8/23/86

NWA World Tag Titles: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) (8/17/86)

It was announced before the match that the RnR got the betls back the night before in Philadelphia and HOLY SHIT the fans were fucking insane for the RnR here....this was an amazing visual. This was worked at a very fast pace as both teams were tearing it up here. Morton plays FIP and is awesome of course taking a lot of punishment even from Cornette's racquet. Morton would lock on a desperation sleeper which brought Gibson in and it was a wild scene now with Cornette coming in to use the racquet on Morton which Tommy Young saw calling a DQ. Damn I wanted so much more here.

Then we get promos from Shaska, Ivan, & Krusher for the 9/6 show in Philly. The big problem here was that they spoiled the main event for the TV show as Ivan said that Nikita beat Magnum for the title.....OOPS......

Next we get clips of Dusty vs. Flair from NWA Pro and Bob Caudle then interviews Flair & Baby Doll next and Flair said that it was only natural that she would be walking with him not Dusty. Baby Doll said that if you aren't a champion you are nothing and that she will finally ride Space Mountain. Slam dunk extra.

Caudle then interviews Dusty who doesn't know what the hell happened but he is glad that he knows where the lines are drawn. Dusty calls Baby Doll a jezebel and he just starts going off on everyone. Slam dunk extra.

Best of 7 Series - Match 7 for the US Heavyweight Title: "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff vs. Magnum TA (8/17/86)

Magnum works over Nikita's left arm furiously like he did in their last match but a missed cross body block to the floor turned the tide in Nikita's favor. Nikita would ram Magnum's back against the apron and began focusing heavily on the back trying to weaken Magnum from using the Belly-To-Belly. Magnum makes a fiery comeback until he goes to the floor after Ivan where he gives him a piledriver which brought out Krusher. Magnum had the Belly-To-Belly on Nikita as Krusher had Tommy Young occupied. Magnum brought Krusher into the ring as Nikita got back up where he got the chain wrapped it around his arm and hit a Russian Sickle to win the title. This was a helluva damn match and a solid nomination.

Then we get promos from Valiant, Wahoo, & Murdoch for the 9/6 show in Philly.

Tony & David close the show distraught over what happened before sending it to Bob Caudle in the locker room with the Russians who are celebrating their victory. Extra material.

World Wide Wrestling 8/30/86

Tony & David start the show talking about the RnR winning the NWA World Tag Titles and they go to Cornette in his wicker chair where he said that Bubba would get his revenge on Dusty and that the MX would get their belts back.

The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton vs. Vernon Deaton & Bill Mulkey (8/26/86)

The MX are highly pissed and they destroy these guys then beat the hell out of them after the match too.

Cornette then talks more after the match about Dusty & RnR with clips of Bubba destroying Randy Mulkey on the 8/23 episode of WCW.

Bull comes out next with Valiant saying that Paul Jones' money means nothing to him and that he will stick with Valiant forever.

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin vs. Mitch Snow (8/26/86)

Snow again still not Jammin yet and he gets jammed into the mat by a Brainbuster from Garvin.

Magnum is with David Crockett next talking about losing the Best of 7 series to Nikita and he said that it won't get him down because he would come back for more.

Shaska Whatley vs. George South (8/26/86)

Shaska takes care of South with a Superplex in less than a minute.

Next we get promos from Jones, Shaska, & the Russians for the 9/6 show in Philly.

Ric Flair & Baby Doll are out next with David Crockett where they talk about her being with the Horsemen now. This is really good stuff and a definite extra.

NWA World TV Title: Arn Anderson © vs. Keith Patterson (8/26/86)

Arn mauls Patterson before finishing him off with the Spinebuster.

Dusty is out with David Crockett next talking about why Baby Doll went with Ric Flair and he still doesn't know the deal. Dusty then talks about how he & David Crockett get on planes and get women....this is hilarious. Dusty then said Baby Doll is like an old shoe in that he has already worn her. Definite extra.

RnR then cut a promo next with David wearing their newly won NWA World Tag Titles and narrate over the clips of them winning the titles.

Tully Blanchard vs. Rocky Kernodle (8/26/86)

Tully wins in less than a minute with the Slingshot Suplex.

Kansas Jayhawks are out next and they talk about how Dusty & Magnum were robbed but they are here now and they want the Russians.

"Russian Bear' Ivan Koloff & Krusher Khruschev vs. Todd Champion & Jack Jackson (8/26/86)

Champion & Jackson were matching tights which was cute but they get killed by the Russians here.

Then we get promos from Valiant & Magnum for the 9/6 show in Philly.

Dundee & Landell join Cornette next where they mock everyone including the Horsemen and I loved how Dundee & Landell were going after everyone not just faces.

"Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff vs. Sam Houston (8/26/86)

Houston has a big American flag with him and leads the fans in chanting USA which pisses off Koloff. Nikita threw Houston high in the air and chunked him with him landing on the back on Tommy Young's leg which almost seriously injured him. Young limped around as Houston tried to fight off Nikita but a Russian Sickle would end this match then gave him another Sickle for good measure. Ronnie Garvin then ran out to check on Houston with Nikita running towards him with the chain but Garvin KOed him as the crowd went nuts. Garvin then went to David Crockett saying that he isn't putting up with Nikita doing that to guys any more and that he would be the man to take the US Title from Nikita. Extra material.
