Georgia #4

Disc 1

Larry Zbyzsko vs. Mr. Wrestling 2 (VTR Recap)

Larry Zbyzsko vs. Pez Watley

- Killer Tim Brooks is the referee and Mr. Wrestling is on the outside watching. Pretty fun match that ends in a draw but Brooks raises Larry's hand and declares him the winner.

Mr. Wrestling 2 vs. Killer Brooks

- Mr. Wrestling is the guest ref for this match as a response to the Pez-Larry match. Brooks tries to use a foreign object but 1 grabs it from his hand as II hits the knee lift for the win.

Ron Garvin vs. Buzz Sawyer

- Sawyer bails after a minute

Tully Blanchard & Larry Zbyzsko Interview (Georgia 7/2/83)

Pez Watley & Mr. Wrestling #2 vs. Larry Z & Tully Blanchard

- This is an elimination match. Larry & Tully go to town as Pez plays the FIP. Pez gets eliminated and When II gets in, he also gets manhandled by the heels. I believe Tully gets eliminated by DQ by refusing to break when the ref calls for it. Shortly, after, II pins Larry with a rollup for the win. This is what I like to see. If Georgia just gave their TV matches time to develop, It allows for better and more enjoyable matches. Nomination.

Tommy Rich vs. Buzz Sawyer (VTR Recap) (EXTRA)

Larry Zbyzsko Interview

JYD & Pez Watley Interview (EXTRA)

Pez Watley vs. Buzz Sawyer

- Pez pins Sawyer in about a minute which was a huge shock at the time. (EXTRA)

Pez Watley vs. Buzz Sawyer

- Sawyer demands a rematch and Watley pins him again! (EXTRA)

Iron Sheik vs. Brett Sawyer

- Nothing special

Buzz Sawyer Interview (EXTRA)

Buzz Sawyer vs. Ron Garvin

- Nice 5 minute match that has Buzz winning after reversing a small package.

Tommy Rich vs. Bob Roop

- This was fun while it was lasted but Sawyer rushes in for the DQ about 2 minutes in.

Jake the Snake vs. Brett Sawyer (Georgia 9/3/83)

- It is strange seeing Brett Sawyer with a National Title and Jake challenging. If this was Mid South 1986, Jake would drop him in about a 5 minute squash. Sawyer spent most of his control segments applying a headlock and Jake was working out of it. When Jake was in control, Buzz Sawyer interfered, causing Brett to get disqualified. This was a really good match and worthy of a nomination.

Les Thornton vs. David Sammartino- This went to a time limit draw but it was boring. I had trouble staying awake.

Dibiase vs. Mr. R (Georgia 2/84)

- The match is ok but this was a classic angle where Dibiase thinks Mr. R is Tommy Rich but it is actually Brad Armstrong. Armstrong upsets Dibiase when he is distracted by Rich on the outside. (EXTRA)

Road Warriors vs. Jay Youngblood & Pez Watley

- The match was basically the Roadies manhandling the faces. Roadies get DQed but the post match has the Roadies and Ellering painting Youngblood white w/ King Kong Bundy saving. (EXTRA)

Larry Z. vs. Ron Garvin (Georgia 3/10/84)

- Man, I reallly like watching Ron Garvin work. I actually like the TV matches better because you get to see all of the small details that make him great. If you like Larry Z. then you should enjoy this match. Nomination.

Disc 2

Tim Horner vs. Road Warrior Hawk

- Not much of a match but notable for Horner's upset over one of the unstoppable Roadies. (EXTRA)

Road Warriors & Jake the Snake vs. Horner, Garvin & Bundy (Georgia 3/31/84)

- Early on, Hawk gets a small measure of revenge by squashing Horner. From there on out, really fun 6-man where the heels maintain control when Horner or Garvin are in there but get squashed by Bundy when he gets in. Naturally, Horner plays FIP for an extended period of time. The finish is a little awkward as Horner rolls up Jake because Hawk took too long in getting in the ring and giving Horner a clothesline. Still, this is a decent TV match and a nomination.

Ron Garvin vs. Ric Flair (Georgia 6/17/84)

- Nice ten minute match that ends in a draw since it was for the TV title. Not as strong as some of their matches later on from 1985-87 but still a nomination.

Kamala vs. King Konga

- Konga gets squashed by Kamala.

Jake the Snake vs. Ron Garvin (Georgia 6/24/84)

- Great match where Garvin stays in control by working Jake's leg. He breaks out a half Boston crab, the Indian death lock and leg stomps. When Jake gets up, his leg is too injured so he has trouble following Garvin who just keeps pounding him with punches. After a ref bump, Jake gets control by putting something in Garvin's face, drops Garvin with the DDT and wins the TV title. Great match and easy nomination.

PRO WRESTLING USA

Billy Graham vs. Craig Carson

- Easy win for Graham

Dory Funk Jr. vs. Dutch Mantel

- Dory wins with a questionable backslide pin.

Tony Atlas & Butch Reed vs. Len Denton & Tony Anthony

- Reed and Atlas dispose of the DWBs quite easily.

Jerry Lawler vs. Eddie Gilbert

- Another quick match where Lawler disposes of Gilbert.

Ron Bass vs. Bob Backlund (Mid Atlantic 1984)

- I am not accustomed to seeing Backlund in these short TV matches. Bob gets DQed giving Bass the win.

GEORGIA

Ron Garvin vs. Ox Baker

- Garvin disposes of Ox quickly.

Tommy Rich - Jimmy Hart Confrontation (Abdullah and the Long Riders beat up Rich)

Bob Roop vs. Tommy Rich

-Another short match but Roop definitley has lost a step since his Mid South run.

Ron Garvin vs. Ron Starr

- A few minutes into the match, Roop jumps Garvin causing the DQ.
