A real back and forth to start. Ole gets Stallion and they start to work him over. The heels use quick tags. Get a tag out and the faces take it to the heels. Now Whatley is FIP. The match has been back and forth. This is a good studio bout, but lacks a narrative. August 15, 20169 yr comment_5763508 "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. Larry Clark (5/11/85)Mr. Torture toys with Clark here before finally KOing him to win.Paul Jones is out next with Abdullah the Butcher talking about how Dusty has his fake gorilla while he has a real animal in Abdullah and Abby is going to destroy Jimmy Valiant.Tully & Baby Doll are out next for a promo talking about being the NWA World TV Champ and how it's his divine right to be a champion as well as he is better than Dusty."Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez vs. Paul Garner (5/11/85)Easy win for the Bull.Dusty is out with the gorilla and Betty Lou again and he has some fresh bananas as well then tells the gorilla that he has flown his mother in so of course Dusty comes back with a gorilla wearing an old woman's hat. Tony Schiavone is laughing his ass off as Dusty is just insane. Slam dunk extra."Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Ron Rossi (5/11/85)Total domination by Flair and he cuts a promo afterwards talking about all challengers as well as taking veiled shots at the WWF saying that the NWA isn't a bunch of rock and roll clowns.Magnum TA vs. George South (5/11/85)South climbed the ropes and jumped off right into a Belly-To-Belly Suplex in a cool spot for the finisher.Next we get the Valiant's War promo with Valiant in facepaint ripping off Dusty's War promo on Kabuki in 1981. Definite Extra."Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff vs. Kent Glover (5/11/85)The fans singing the National Anthem and waving flags before the match was quite the sight and Nikita used it as fuel to destroy Glover.T-Bolt & Manny are out next for a promo talking about how they are still coming for the National Tag Titles and they will get the belts soon. The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Ole & Arn Anderson) & Bob Roop vs. Italian Stallion, "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer, & Pistol Pez Whatley (5/11/85)Quite the interesting 6-man here. This had some good back and forth action with both teams making lots of quick tags and trading the advantage at a very fast pace. Everyone got their time to shine and it was very competitive although I think everyone knew that Stallion would do the job which he did. The armwork on Stallion while he was FIP was so good as Roop made a perfect partner for the Andersons style. The finish would come after a 6-way brawl where Ole would come off the top with a knee to Stallion who had Roop pinned and then he pinned Stallion even though he wasn't the legal man. Still a pretty fun match but not a nomination although in some other categories this might qualify.Flair then comes back out and says the fans are soft and spoiled before calling out everyone again as watching the Andersons & Roop take care of business got him pumped up.Thunderbolt Patterson vs. Randy Barber (5/11/85)T-Bolt batters Barber here.Dillon then comes out talking about Flair dominating the show that day and Landell being Flair's shadow which it's catching up to him and this is followed up by the Budro video to Smooth Operator by Sade.Magnum them comes out talking about the great competition and is then asked about the deal with Flair the week before which brings Flair out and he talks shit to Magnum again before walking off. Flair is fucking amazing here. All the Flair/Magnum stuff is extra material no doubt.Dusty then follows them for more of the gorilla saga and the gorilla is out of the cage. Extra material.Krusher Khruschev vs. Alan Martin (5/11/85)The fans sing the anthem again as Krusher takes out his aggression on Martin. The gorilla chases Ivan into the ring and slaps hands with the fans before Dusty runs out and drags the gorilla to the back. Hilarious.Abdullah the Butcher vs. Mac Jeffers (5/11/85)Abby just destroys Jeffers.Tully & Baby Doll are back out for a promo before his match saying that he is the perfect way to end the show.NWA World TV Title: Tully Blanchard © vs. Jim Jeffers (5/11/85)Tully has no issues here before getting the Slingshot Suplex to win.Arn Anderson is out next for a promo talking about how great the Andersons are before being joined by Ole who agrees with what he said and he talks about how they are the National Tag Champs with no one being able to stop them.
