NWA Handheld 11/22/87 (Johnstown)

Eddie Gilbert vs. Jimmy Jackson

-Ok match

Bubba Rogers vs. ???

- I can't make out Bubba's opponent. He disposes of him in short order.

Kevin Sullivan vs. Rick Steiner

- I don't know what it is but I have not enojyed watching Kevin Sullivan in the footage I have seen. I actually liked him better as bodybuilder midget in Georgia but Taskmaster Devil Sullivan kind of sucks. Anyway, I was bored with this match. It may be someone else's cup of tea but it isn't mine.

Paul Ellering vs. JJ Dillon

- This sucked.

Arn Anderson vs. Robert Gibson

- Early on, they trade holds and while Arn is in a headlock, he makes the pin attempt on Gibson. Arn grabs the tights but Gibson tells the ref to check. Each time he checks, Arn lets go of the tights. This was an interesting spot that I have not seen used in a headlock pin and actually establishes a pattern of Arn cheating every time he works a hold. Anyway, action picks up including a sweet enziguiri by Gibson. Arn gains control with a low blow and slows things down. held on to the ropes for the pin. Arn's cheating finally gave him the pin as he prevented a sunset flip and grabbed the ropes for the 123. I actually liked this match quite a bit. I'll throw it on as a low-level nomination.

Tully Blanchard vs. Rick Morton

- This was disappointing. In a ten minute match, the first several minutes were spent stalling and showboating. I enjoy that stuff but ususally in matches where time is not an issue. Ricky injures his leg and Tully spends the remainder of the match working the leg. Morton turns the tide with a low blow and they go back and forth until Morton rolls Blanchard up in a small package for the three. However, Tully's legs were over the ropes but the referee did not see it. As a story arc, with the previous a match, this was pretty cool as Morton got to avenge his partner's loss using low blows and an unjust finish. As a total match, I think this falls short which is sad conideirng the talent of the 2 guys in the ring. However, there are singles amtches from TV I have not watched so this matchup may end up on here anyway.

Road Warriors vs. Midnight Express

- Pretty good Roadies-MX match but not enough for a nomination. I liked the other match way better.
