Maple Leaf #1

Flair-Koloff-Piper (Flair calls out Piper. Koloff attacks and Piper laughs at Flair.) (EXTRA)

Jimmy Snuka & Roddy Piper vs. Ric Flair & Dewey Robertson

- Pretty great tag match. Alot of stalling early on but when Piper gets Flair in the corner, he just unloads with some great shots. Piper played heel-in-peril for awhile and Robertson catches him with a beautiful cross-body from the 2nd rope. The end stretch is just great give and take between Flair and the heels. However, Robertson dropkicks Flair on top of Snuka for the pin GReat match and definite nomination.

Promos for upcoming events

Ivan Koloff & Tim Gerrard vs. Tony Parisi & Angelo Mosca

- MOsca's tema wins by dropping Gerrard.

Promos for upcoming events

Johnny Weaver & Jay Youngblood vs. Sgt. Slaughter & Greg Valentine

- Valentine pins Weaver after 5 minutes.

George Wells & Sweet Ebony Diamond vs. Mr. Fuji & Hossein Arab (Iron Sheik)

- Awkward match. It looks like it ends with Fuji and Sheik just walking away.

Promos

Gene & Ole Anderson attack some jobber

Angelo Mosca vs. Big Swede Hansen

- Not my cup of tea.

Angelo Mosca Interview

VINCE!

Ricky Steamboat vs. Ray Stevens

- Early part of the match has Stevens controlling with a headlock and Steamboat finally escapes with a big bodyslam. When Steamboat controls, he works on the arm as he is accustomed to doing. Being a big Steamboat fan, of course I am going to nominate this. Finish was pretty cool as Stevens uses the ropes to get a pin but the ref sees it and the match is still on. Steamer kicks him in the back of the head which sets up the cross body. Stevens tries to put his foot on the ropes but Ricky knocks it off and gets the three count.

Bobby Duncum vs. Tony Parisi

- Zzzzz

This starts with a wild promo from Flair wearing a great leather coat begging for Roddy Piper but the Andersons come out instead and Ivan jumps Flair from behind. Piper is insane on commentary while Koloff batters Flair. Extra material. (5/6/81)

Next we get a promo from Mr. Fuji & Piper about the MLG show on 6/14.

No DQ Match: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair & Dewey Robertson vs. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper & "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka (5/4/81)

Piper & Snuka teaming together is a hoot and they spend the early portion of this trying to stay away from Flair but they would catch him and then doubled him up in their corner. Flair would get the hot tag to Dewey who would hit some big slams as the crowd goes nuts then works over Piper. Dewey would eventually get caught though and was controlled by the heels for a good bit before getting the hot tag to Flair who runs wild on Snuka. Flair would get caught again though but Dewey would dropkick his back as Snuka had him for a slam to get the win. Very fun TV match and I'll push this as a low-end pick.

Then we get a promo from Flair about his match against Ivan at MLG on 6/14.

Next we get promos from Fuji, Ray Stevens, & Flair about their matches at MLG on 6/14.

Then we get a promo from Piper about his match with Andre at MLG on 8/9.

Next we get a promo from Sweet Ebony Diamond about his match with Valentine at MLG on 7/26.

Then we get a promo from Piper about his match with Stevens against Andre & Flair at MLG on 7/26.

"King Kong" Angelo Mosca & Tony Parisi vs. Tim Gerrard & "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff (July 1981)

Gerrard looks like a big jobber and he is that. This would be a expiration of time match and it wasn't very good.

Next we get a promo by Flair about his match with Andre against Piper & Stevens at MLG on 7/26.

Then we get clips of Flair/Ivan Koloff in a steel cage from Greensboro on 7/5/81 with Steamer narrating along with Flair. Ole Anderson gets involved throwing the chain in the cage then Steamer comes out trying to get in and this is a wild brawl. Extra material.

Next we get promos from Flair & Youngblood about their Texas Death Match against the Andersons at MLG on 8/30.

Then we get a promo from Big John Studd about his NWA World title match against Dusty Rhodes at MLG on 8/30.

Next we get promos from Youngblood about his match with Killer Khan, Wahoo about his match with Piper, and Leroy Brown about his match with Tony Parisi against Ole & Ivan on 10/18 at MLG.

Then we get promos from Slaughter about his match with Sweet Ebony Diamond, Ole & Ivan about their match with Leroy & Tony Parisi, and Piper about his match with Wahoo on 10/18 at MLG.

Sgt. Slaughter & Greg Valentine vs. Johnny Weaver & Jay Youngblood (9/21/81)

The Guelph, Ontario crowd is hot for the faces here as they chant loudly for Youngblood. Good action here early as Valentine takes punishment from both faces then Sarge comes in for more of the same including 2 Weaver Locks. This is a short match so you get no real tag psychology just action where the finish is Weaver having Valentine in the Weaver Lock and Sarge coming off the top behind his back allowing Valentine to get the win. Fun little match.

Next we get promos from Stevens about his no DQ match against Dewey Robertson and Fuji about his match with Mosca at MLG on 6/14.

Sweet Ebony Diamond & George Wells vs. Mr. Fuji & Hussein Arab (Iron Sheik) (3/31/81)

Billy Red Lyons saying that this would sellout any arena in the world is great. There are some jump clips here for some reason but the match isn't very good anyway.

Then we get promos from Flair/Youngblood about their match with the Andersons and Studd about his match with Dusty at MLG on 8/30.

Tommy Young whines about how the Andersons treated a jobber in a TV match saying that he will fine them so they destroy the jobber some more.

Next we get promos from Dusty at Techwood Studios about his match with Studd and the Andersons about their match with Flair & Youngblood at MLG on 8/30.

"King Kong" Angelo Mosca vs. Swede Hanson (3/31/81)

Wow this sucked.

Then we get a promos from Greg Valentine & Mosca with Vince McMahon about their match at MLG on 8/30.

Ricky Steamboat vs. Ray "The Crippler" Stevens (3/8/81)

This is from MLG. Stevens dominates early using a rear chinlock and some shortcuts but Steamer comes firing back after a bodyslam and this becomes quickly a slugfest which sees Steamer even steal a spot from JYD as he did a crawling headbutt. Stevens would take a hard bump over the turnbuckle to the apron and Steamer would bring the fight to the ramp where he would start working over Stevens' left arm viciously. Steamer goes to town on his arm until Stevens catches him with a desperation knee to the ribs before throwing him to the floor. Stevens would pound on Steamer for a bit but Steamer would make a comeback before Stevens pulled his legs out from under him and used the ropes to pin him. Terry Yorkston saw the feet though and said the match must go on which it did with Steamer coming off the top with a cross body block to win. Stevens got his foot on the ropes but Steamer pulled it off. Stevens tried to piledriver Steamer on the ramp afterwards but he ate a backdrop in the ring for his pleasure. Good match and I'll pass it on as a low-end pick.

Next we get promos from Valentine about his match with Youngblood and Piper & Ole about their match against Flair & Wahoo at MLG on 9/20/81.

"Big Bad" Bobby Duncum vs. Tony Parisi (March 1981)

Best part about this match is a fan who is smoking a cigarette helping a fallen Parisi get back up and into the ring.

Then we get a promo from Leroy about his match with Studd at MLG on 11/30/81.

Next we get clips of Ivan Koloff jumping Ron Bass during a squash.

Then we get a promo from Harley Race about wanting the Canadian title.

This is followed up by a verbal confrontation between Johnny Weaver and Lord Alfred Hayes who is accompanied by Chris Markoff & Nikolai Volkoff.
