Savage is mega pissed because of the injury and goes for his diving double axehandle to the floor early both inside and outside the ring. Savage just anniliated Idol on the floor using a running kick to the head and rapid punches before rolling him back in the ring for more punishment. Savage gets a couple of nearfalls after elbow smashes and keeps up the pressure but the crowd is trying to get Idol going. Savage gets another nearfall then thinks he won the match but Idol would catch him in a schoolboy for another nearfall that really angers Savage. Savage would hit Idol with the crutch again then dropped him neck first on the top rope as he jumped to the floor. Savage then hit another diving double axehandle for another nearfall and this gets Idol going so he starts firing back at Savage before they have a double collision. Savage is up first and starts firing the punches with Idol getting fired up and he makes his big comeback throwing some nice punches then pummels him in the corner. Idol would then throw him to the other side where Savage went in head first then Idol started pounding him on the mat before trying an atomic drop but Savage would reverse. Idol though would grab Savage’s leg and took him down going into the Las Vegas Leglock in a great spot. Savage cries out in pain with Angelo trying to help him but it’s to no avail as Savage submits. This was a great sprint with Savage looking tremendous and Idol working hard for him so I think this goes on the block.
December 24, 200717 yr comment_5425841 I had never seen an actually good Austin Idol match before. You watch this series and you can understand how Savage had such good matches wiht Ultimate Warrior and Dennis Rodman. Savage is just flying all over the place, and Idol doesn't have to do much but get the crowd behind him. Finish was totally awesome, and you just don't see clean submission finishes like that in the 80's.
January 17, 200817 yr comment_5427247 This was a great all action match. Savage was just brilliant and I'm totally digging his Memphis work. The finish was a holy shit moment because it wasn't what I was expecting. Savage was just incredible at carry ng super over, but limited big guys to just good matches. This was a total blast that would have fit perfect as a Nitro main event in 97 minus the great finish.
August 1, 200817 yr comment_5433466 Randy Savage vs. Austin Idol, 5/14/84 (Wrestling Gold Disc 4) - I thought this was criminally short. I kept rewatching to see where the clips happened. Anyway, I am not seeing it. Good solid TV match that happens in an arena.
