Barry Windham vs. Brad Armstrong - Man, I wanted to nominate this match but I couldn't. I was just bored most of the time and I love both of these guys. To be honest, I don't think I ever paid attention to this when I made my Brad comp or Barry comp. Maybe you guys will think differently.

Lyle Alzado & Learning the Ropes (EXTRA)

Rock N Roll Express Interview

Flair-Luger signing for GAB World Title match

Ric Flair & Brainbusters arrive at the arena Lex Luger attacked!!!

The Fantastics vs. The Sheepherders - I just don't like this matchup. There really was no rhyme or reason for anything these guys were doing. Hell, you can't even argue that they were brawling or laying in stiff shots. Jsut a rambling mess. The multiple pin splashes from Rogers and Fulton were cute but made no sense in a non-Texas Tornado match. Maybe one of you guys will like this match but I didn't. No vote.

Dr. Death Interview (in tuxedo)

Varsity Club vs. Ron & Jimmy Garvin - I guess this continues that Garvin-Sullivan feud that was lighting up the arenas. Thank God it is Steiner and Rotundo since I have not been impressed with SUllivan at all. In one year's time, Precious went from hot to OLD... unless that was just an unflattering camera angle. Anyway, I don't know what was going on this night but this tag was another mess. I have no idea why but it just seems like everuone was half-assing it on this show.

Nikita Koloff vs. Al Perez - This is a matchup that appears on Main Event quite often but I don't think I have enjoyed any of them. Still, I liked this more than Fans-Sheeps.

Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson vs. Sting & Dusty Rhodes - Now, this is more like it. Arn & Tully are so great that they bump and sell for the faces making both Dusty and Sting look like a million bucks. The match had a crappy finish with Windham interference but it was never boring, everything made sense and it had some great spots like Dusty catching Tully coming off the ropes and Arn giving Sting a DDT on the floor. I am going to nominate this.

We start the show with Jim Ross hanging out at the entrance with Lyle Alzado getting out of a limo with Frances Crockett then Gary Juster & Elliott Murnick getting out of their limo and how exciting.

US Heavyweight Title: Barry Windham © vs. Brad Armstrong

On paper this looks like a fantastic match and with Windham just turning it was interesting to see how the Miami crowd treated him. Brad started out looking good while Barry is wanting to lay in a headscissors. Brad was being too scientific though and got caught with a hard right hand which woke him up but Brad wanted to work that side headlock like crazy. Barry got tired of that though and just dropped Brad with a backdrop suplex then a hard powerslam for a nearfall. Barry would then lock on a figure-four leglock with Dillon's help and the Miami fans are hating that shit. This was good at getting the crowd heat I will say which kept it interesting but Brad was in the hold for almost 5 minutes which should've killed this hold dead as a lethal finisher. Teddy finally made Barry break the hold after seeing him use the ropes but after all of that Barry quit working on the leg and threw Brad to the floor where he dropped him throat first on the railing. Barry would go up top and missed a flying elbow and now Brad is firing back without selling the long legwork from minutes ago. Brad is a house of fire taking it to Windham hitting a big cross body block for a nearfall and then hit one again but Barry rolled through and locked on the Iron Claw with Brad getting pinned. This match was a ring psychology disaster.....god you want to talk about terrible. Both guys did some fun things but holy shit.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) are now back and are interviewed by Bob Caudle who talk coming home and they want gold.

Next we get the Flair/Luger contract signing on the Blackhawk yacht in Miami and yes this is a definite extra.

Then we get the arrival of the Horsemen in thelr limo then Luger in his white tux where he gets destroyed which is a definite extra.

US Tag Titles: The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) © vs. The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams)

Now these teams have had some fucking awesome matches in 1986 UWF it's time to see them in JCP. This has a different start as the Sheeps dominate as soon as the match starts beating on Fulton so a reverse of your normal southern tag. Fulton would take Luke to the floor though and got some offense in but Rip Morgan would attack him although that backfired. Rogers would finally come in and the Fants get control even though the Sheeps get their shots in as well and then it isn't long before they start dominating Rogers. Rogers is now in his normal role as FIP and he does a good job of taking punishment before getting the hot tag to Fulton who runs wild before getting caught in the Sheeps' corner and now he is getting worked over again. This is basically a glorified squash match before we get the wild Fants nearfall bonanza on the Sheeps which popped the crowd. Rogers now starts working on Luke's right arm some before Butch holds the top rope allowing Rogers to fly over the top to the floor where he got his back slung into the railing twice then got smashed with one of the title belts. I did love the running headbutt from Luke through the ropes on Rogers keeping him on the floor. This part was great as the Sheeps were doing everything to keep Rogers on the floor and the fans were getting pissed. Rogers gets back in the ring where he gets punished some more and this was fun because Rogers was so great in this role. Rogers would throw Luke into the chairshot from Butch and it allowed him to tag Fulton back in who again ran wild getting an O'Connor Roll for the pin right before Butch attacked him. The Sheeps kept beating down the Fants though after the match for good measure and this was another match where the psychology was all over the damn place...these guys were doing lots of shit just to do it.

Next we get Dr. Death in his white tuxedo and holy shit the streak of Dr. Death Clash promos is amazing. Jesus this is horrific.

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin & "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. The Varsity Club ("Captain" Mike Rotundo & "Dogfaced Gremlin" Rick Steiner)

Kevin Sullivan is in the cage on the floor with Precious holding the key as Dr. Death is on commentary for this match oh joy. Will definitely has a point about Precious looking older than normal here....well if you were booked in this angle you would age too. The Garvin's were strong early on working over the heels but it was nothing special and then Ronnie gets worked over but he can't tag Jimmy because Jimmy had gotten over to the cage to talk shit to Sullivan. This match is basically a backdrop to the Sullivan/Precious/Jimmy story and the other 3 guys are along for the ride so you can't take the match seriously which sucks because Ronnie was really good at working FIP. This definitely made me want to see a 15 minute Ronnie vs. Rick Steiner singles match. Precious all of a sudden goes to the cage and Sullivan gets the key but the Garvin's win and this is total clusterfuck as Sullivan chokes Precious until Dr. Death makes the save in his white tuxedo. Precious then walks out as Schiavone is flabbergasted.

Then we get Bob & Tony hyping up Roadies vs. Powers of Pain matches as well as the Tower of Doom for the Bash.

"Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff vs. "Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez

Perez wearing white tights was always weird just like Nikita off the juice here. Nikita loves working the armbar early on as they show a preteen in the crowd with a Nikita is a Super Hunk sign. Nikita got sent to the floor where Gary Hart would bash his head into a table at ringside which turned the tide for Perez. Nikita takes quite the beating here from Perez and this was pretty good stuff as Al was vicious in working him over before taking it back to the ring to work the reverse chinlock which Nikita countered with an Electric Chair Drop which was nice. After a botched clothesline spot, Perez sent Nikita back to the floor but Nikita came back in with a sunset flip which started his comeback. The crowd is fired up for Nikita as he takes it to Perez until Larry Zbyszko runs out with a chain for the DQ. Gary Hart then jumps in and it's 3-on-1 until the heels leave. This was a decent match and the best match on the show so far but not a nomination.

NWA World Tag Titles: "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard © vs. "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes & Sting

We are in Rhodes Country in Miami for the main event. Sting looked good early working on Arn's left hand and hitting a beautiful flying headscissors on Tully then tags in Dusty who the Miami crowd goes fucking insane for all of his offense. Tully & Arn do what they do best as they bump all over the place making both babyfaces look great. Dusty even breaks out a flying lariat and standing dropkick before tagging in Sting who has Tully in the Scorpion Deathlock but Arn would come in to stop the attack and sent Sting to the floor. Sting would work FIP and ate a great looking sunset flip/clothesline combo by the Horsemen for a nearfall then a DDT on the floor. Sting would fight back though and even used the Hot Shot on Tully before getting the hot tag to Dusty. Dusty was a house of fire and the 4-way brawl was on before Sting threw Teddy Long to the floor as Dusty & Arn battled in the ring. Long came back in the ring but Dusty threw him to the floor before Windham would show up wearing the black glove and putting the claw on Dusty as Flair goes after Sting. This was a very fun match and I think it goes forward.
