Midnight Express vs. The Russian Assassins

- There are too many good MX matches that will be on the set to consider this ok match.

Ricky Steamboat Interview

Butch Reed vs. Steven Casey

- What the hell happened to my Butch Reed?!?!?! Anyway, this was really boring, no heat, no fire, nothing. Hell, the camera kept going to the audience during the match becasue they could.

Ric Flair - Ricky Steamboat Confrontation (EXTRA)

- They revive a 1978 angle where Steamboat ends up tearing off all of Ric's clothes. I may include the 1978 angle as well just so people can see where they got it from.

Lex Luger vs. The Blackmailer

- Pro Wrestling history says this is Jack Victory. Luger has so many good matches from 87-89 that I can't look at this and take it seiously.

Mike Rotunda & Steve Williams vs. The Fantastics

- Right now, this is the only match from the show that looks like it has a shot at a nomination unless something else is shockingly great. AND it is another disappointing match with no heat.

Ricky Steamboat vs. Bob Bradley

- No

Rick Steiner vs. Rip Morgan

- No

Michael Hayes, Sting & Junkyard Dog Interview

- Kevin Sullivan locks them in the dressing room so the varsity Club can contend for the belts.

Road Warriors & Genichiro Tenryu vs. Mike Rotunda, Kevin Sullivan & Steve Williams

- The match isnt even the main focus as the camera breaks to the back as the Sting crew is locked up. The faces make it to the ring and the match is thrown out.

- Does this Clash have a rep for being the shittiest show ever? Hell, even GAB 91 has a pretty good Morton-Gibson match. This has nothing.

Magnum saying in the opening of the show that Genichiro Tenryu was the greatest wrestler to come out of Japan was awesome and truthful. Jack Reynolds was the ring announcer for the show and was so bad that the thoughts of hiring him to be a permanent announcer on TV was squashed.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs The Russian Assassins (Angel of Death & Jack Victory)

Cornette wearing his mobster suit for St. Valentine's Day Massacre was a good touch. The light show leading the guys to the ring was fun and the differences between how the early NWA shows looked compared to JCP was stark. They loved the crowd shots too and we got a lot of them on this show. As the MX were working over the Assassins we got an inset promo from Paul E. which was nice. Corny & Paul Jones threatening to go at it on the floor was hilarious then Stan caught him with the educated feet. Paul then joins the announcers and talks shit during the match about how the OMX are going to win at Chi-Town Rumble. Corny pastes Assassin #1 with the tennis racket as the crowd goes nuts. Lane would get isolated by the Assassins for a while as they worked over his back while the crowd chanted USA. Lane would go to the wrong corner before getting the hot tag to Eaton but once Eaton came in he cleaned house on them before winning with the Rocket Launcher.

Bob Caudle interviews Steamer and little Richie next and he talks about coming back for Flair and winning the NWA Title for his family.

"Hacksaw" Butch Reed vs. Steve Casey

Yep this is Steven Dane going against the Hacksaw who is trying to revitalize his career after being a dud in the WWF. They actually went to a crowd shot where this dude was totally sticking his tongue down his girl's throat and that was the highlight of the many crowd shots during the match. The one thing a match like this showed though how depleted the roster was during the early transition as they haven't brought in some of guys that would come for the Spring/Summer. This match went on FOREVER....my god this match wouldn't stop.....I will say that Casey's bump off of Butch's top rope shoulder block was awesome.

Next we get Flair and his bevy of babes come out for a promo and Flair's fur coat is fantastic. Hiro Matsuda replacing JJ Dillon though was terrible. Flair is talking up all the fun he has and calls for Steamer to come out to take his pick and even tells Bob Caudle to take his pick of one of the women which was great. Steamer comes out and of course this leads to him stripping Flair to his underwear just like they did 11 years earlier and this is still a fantastic angle. Slam dunk extra.

"Total Package" Lex Luger vs. The Blackmailer (Jack Victory)

Yep Victory is doing double duty here and this is just an odd match. Luger looks good here and the match is okay but still odd because Luger gave way too much here.

US Tag Titles: "Captain" Mike Rotundo & "Dr, Death" Steve Williams © vs. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers)

Well this has the best chance to be the best match of the show and it was but it wasn't saying a whole lot because of how bad the other ones were. The work here was okay but it was lacking a spark even though the fans were into pretty much everything. Plus we have better from the Fants/Varsity Club pairing so I don't think this is a nomination.

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. Bob Bradley

Yes Steamer is being wasted on for Bob Bradley....Steamer looks good though but the We Want Flair chants were loud.

"Dogfaced Gremlin" Rick Steiner vs. Rip Morgan

This would've been a good match for like the NWA Main Event but a Clash of the Champions no fucking way. Steiner looks good though.

Next we get Bob Caudle hanging with Michael Hayes, JYD, & Sting talking about their 6-Man Tag Titles challenge coming up then Kevin Sullivan locks the door to their dressing room area......this is what killed the NWA/All-Japan relationship.

NWA World Six-Man Tag Titles: The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) & Genichiro Tenryu © vs. The Varsity Club ('Captain" Mike Rotundo, Genichiro Tenryu, & "Dr. Death" Steve Williams)

Tenryu wearing his REVOLUTION JACKET is awesome.....EVERYONE WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD!!!! The Varsity Club takes the spot against the Roadies thus making the Roadies & Tenryu babyfaces and the fans are hot for the action. Hawk using an enzuigiri right besides Tenryu was awesome. The match started with 7 minutes left in the show so you knew this wouldn't last long. The cameras were mainly focusing on the babyfaces getting unlocked so you can't really focus on the match although we get a fun Tenryu enzuigiri on Doc. Doug Dillenger finally gets the babyfaces unlocked and they run out to the ring before it turns into a wild brawl with Jim Ross going wild.
