Posted December 16, 200717 yr comment_5425375 Sting & Ric Flair beat Dick Slater & The Great Muta - Early on, this is pretty great once Slater and Flair come in. For example, Flair does the Flair Flip corner run, and as he runs into Muta, he chops him off the apron and then hits Slater from the top rope. To retaliate, Muta comes in with a sweet kick that drops Flair to the outside. Flair and Sting stay in control with constant tags until Muta rakes Flair's eyes. The Flair face in peril section was also pretty good as Muta and Slater abuse Flair until Flair counters a nerve hold with a manhattan drop. It looks like Sting has the match wrapped up until Hart nails him with a roll of coins and Sting plays FIP. Hot ending as both teams go back and forth until Terry Funk runs tothe ring and tries to kill Flair with a plastic bag over his head. This is an easy nomination and a great tag match with an awesome angle to set up Clash IX.
September 4, 201312 yr comment_5560274 I agree that this is an easy nomination. Everyone looks great. Their are tons of heat. The angle at the end was super. Slater in his truly last big run really brings it.A spirited brawl with a great story.
