Ric Flair beat Terry Funk (I Quit)

- When I watched this match two years ago, I thought it was such a letdown that I kept harping on the match I wanted to see instead of appreciating the match in front of me. I still think there are some flaws with the match and some dead spots but this is still a definite nomination even if it will rank lower than other matches from both guys. I think that when compared to some of the better gimmick matches on the set, it won't look as good but when compared to what was happening at the time, you can't really fault the match for a lack of blood when it wasn't allowed. I don't think this is a ***** must-see classic but it is well worth watching. I'll be interested in seeing where this lands and how it fares against the GAB match.

This is one of my favorite matches of all-time because it was nothing but a fucking fight with both men just beating the fuck out of each other and Funk being a lunatic. Everything that built up to this was fantastic and this match put the cherry on the sundae. The finish was phenomenal and the post match angle was godly with Jim Ross being at a Tulsa Convention Center level of awesome.

BTW this was the 14th greatest match of the 80's on the Bowdren list.
