If it made it on to the set I would not be upset but I think at this point, a Crockett tag has to really stand out to make the set and I can't really think of anything that happened that made it stand out. Ragin’ & Ravishin’ vs. Road Warriors - Oh man, watching Rude and Hawk pose is a hoot. Rude incorporates the impromptu arm wrestling match against Hawk spot which i have only seen in a Dingo Warrior match from World Class. Another cool spot has Rude working a leglock so Animal overpowers him and turns it into a pinning spot and Animal breaks out some pushups in order to get some pin attempts. The entire match has Rude and Bull trying to figure ways out to get the advantage over the more powerful Warriors. They are finally able to get the advantage when Hawk has Rude pinned and Manny comes off the top rope and smashes Hawk in the back. I love how Manny works on Hawk's arm by wrapping it around the rope and throwing a headbutt into the shoulder. Ragin' & Ravishin' end up getting the DQ but I enjoyed the hell out of this match. I am going to nominate it because I think this is one of those matches that needs to be seen even if it isn't supposed to be better than a Horsemen-RNR matchup. The New Breed vs. Tim Horner & Bobby Jaggers - OK tag match, nothing special Lazer Tron vs. Denny Brown - This is a rematch after Tron beat Brown for the Jr. Title. This one wasn't very competitive as Lazer Tron ends it in short order.
June 1, 20169 yr comment_5755499 Tully Blanchard & "Total Package" Lex Luger vs. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (4/3/87)Morton punching Tully like a wildman was a fun start to the match for sure. RnR looked really good to start using stereo sleeper holds, quick tags, blind tags, and were totally frustrating the heels. I liked the spot where the RnR would switch back and forth working over Tully's left arm and he would tag in Luger twice but Earl Hebner never saw it. Luger would tag in and we got the same arm work with him but he was able to power free and raked Morton in the eyes then tagged in Tully. Morton though keeps on firing shots but as he was sent to the ropes, Dillon would pull down the top rope and Morton went crashing to the floor then Luger attacked him. The Horsemen are finally now in control with Luger using his power advantage to weaken Morton although his work as FIP didn't last long as he got the hot tag to Gibson who ran wild on Luger. Morton then comes back in and he tries to pin Luger a couple of times before Luger attacked his back again before tagging in Tully who gets put in a Figure-Four by Morton then Gibson puts a Figure-Four on Luger as time is ticking away. Morton would have Tully pinned with the time ticking but Hebner was distracted by Dillon and then he got a couple of more nearfalls with a big cross body block off the top rope right as the bell rang. The RnR then cleaned out the Horsemen after the match for good measure. I thought this was a very fun match and different than a lot of the RnR matches we've seen so I'll throw it up as a low-end nomination.NWA World Tag Titles: Ragin & Ravishing (Manny Fernandez & Rick Rude) © vs. The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) (4/3/87)The story early on was the Roadies and how they were basically superhuman making the champs look like goofs especially Rude. Paul Jones grabs the house mic and said that he would put up $5,000 on the spot if Hawk would arm-wrestle Rude which he does so they stop the actual match for this spot which was great. Rude tries to grab the rope for leverage and Animal kicks it off so Hawk put Rude's hand down and Paul Jones is pisssed because he is out $5,000. Ragin & Ravishing are really good at stooging during this entire Roadies dominance and the fans are eating it up. Hawk would hit Rude with a diving clothesline off the middle rope but Manny would follow with a big smash off the middle rope and now the champs finally have the advantage where they work over Hawk's left arm. Hawk would hit a big shoulder tackle then got the hot tag to Animal who ran wild before the 4-way brawl started with Bull going for a cross body block off the middle rope but Animal caught him in a powerslam which brought in Paul Jones who interfered for the DQ. This was a fun match but with a shitty finish...I'll back it as a low-end nomination but that's all.The New Breed (Chris Champion & Sean Royal) vs. "White Lightning" Tim Horner & "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers (4/3/87)Dutch has left for Continental so Jaggers is teaming with random people. Interesting back and forth match with both teams getting a chance to shine using fast athletic moves while Jaggers brought in some power offense. New Breed would soon get control and won fairly quickly after.NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Lazertron © vs. Denny Brown (4/3/87)Tron embarrasses Brown on the mat and then after a very small flurry by Brown he came fighting back getting the win.
January 25, 20178 yr comment_5785214 Rock N Roll Express vs Tully Blanchard/Lex Luger This was a good match. We start out with Tully and Morton having a fight. It slows down into a nice shine for the faces. The Rock N Roll get the arm and work it. We get some ref distraction spots and the faces do the fake tagging in and out. This gets a great reaction from the crowd. Luger in and they do the same stuff and work the arm. Luger gets Morton in a bear hug and Morton really makes this. Morton takes a bump to the outside. They get the heat here. This is worked pretty well. Tully is such a shit. We end up with a time limit draw. Road Warriors vs Manny Fernandenove][ the test of strength spot. Both heels stooge for the Roadies mixed in with some stalling. A famous young Rude spot and it's the arm wrestle challenge in the middle of the match. Hawk gets the victory in the arm wrestling challenge. Liking Manny working the arm. This was solid stuff, but doesn't feel like a nom. Other matches are more filler.
