Posted December 21, 200717 yr comment_5425693 Arn Anderson vs. Dusty Rhodes (TV Title) - This was pretty sweet. Early on, Dust hurts Arn's ankle to remind him that he hasn't forgotten what they did to his leg. After Arn gets frustrated, he keeps Dusty grounded oin order to control the match but we go to a commercial break. After the break, I don't know how much we missed but now Arn is working on Dusty's leg. Dust gets some energy and goes for the Figure-4 but his leg is too damaged for him to carry it out. Onc eDusty is on his feet, he buys himself some time by tossing Arn out onto the concrete. Even when it looks like Dust is in control, Arn exploits the leg injury. Of course, we get a ref bump which sets up Arn bringing a chair into the ring. He tries to smash Dusty's leg but Dust moves and hits a BIG DDT onto the chair for the pin and the title. This was pretty much non-stop the entire way. The commercial break hurts it a little but this is still a nomination and one of the better Dusty matches I have watched so far. (NWA Pro 9/86)
August 13, 201411 yr comment_5618698 I'll give this a low end nomination. This is a match that tells a basic story that both guys are very capable if telling . It boils down to Arn attacking the leg with precision and Dusty selling. These guys do this in spades. We get a ref bump, Arn brings a chair in to finish the job but misses. Dusty with the DDT on the chair for the win. I loved this finish.
January 12, 20178 yr comment_5783133 NWA World TV Title: Arn Anderson © vs. "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (9/9/86)This is the first time that Dusty used the Hank Jr. "Can't Judge A Book By It's Cover" song as his theme. Dusty looks strong early on and Arn was great at bumping and selling for him. Arn though would get Dusty down and worked over his left arm then started working over Dusty's bad left leg. Arn locks on the spinning toehold and has Dusty writhing in pain but Dusty would come fighting back although the pain was too much for him. Dusty started hitting some strikes and sent Arn to the floor where he bashed him into the guardrail but he still was fighting through pain. Arn got caught with a clothesline as he came off the top rope and then we get a ref bump. Arn grabbed a steel chair and brought it in the ring but he got DDTed on the chair allowing Dusty to win the title. Dusty then talks to Caudle & Weaver afterwards talking about how he got his belt back after having almost everything taken away from him. This was a fun match and I have no problem passing it on as a low-end nomination.
