Posted December 21, 200717 yr comment_5425695 Tully Blanchard vs. Tim Horner / Four Horsemen Interview- Early on, Horner gets the best of Tully, controlling him working on the arm. The only problem is they aren't really working the hold or going in and out with anything interesting. Later on, it gets interesting as Horner gets a bunch of hope spots in and there reaches a point where you think he could actually upset Tully. You also gotta love Tully being frustrated enough where he grabs the tights for the pin because of his inability to control him during the match. After the match, Barry Windham tells the ref that Tully held the tights and Windham gets attacked by the Four Horsmen. I was bored early on but this picked up in the middle and was really enjoyable in the end. The Windham angle leads to his series with Flair. I think the match by itself is a low-end nomination but with the post-match and a Horsemen interview to boot, this is goes to the next round.(NWA TV 12/86 - 1/87 D3)
December 22, 200717 yr comment_5425740 Windham nearly ruined this for me. He was horrible at the announce booth and really came across as sort of an asshole for interjecting himself in nothing that had anything to do with him. Match was still good though. Low-level yes vote.
August 19, 200916 yr comment_5443034 I kinda dug this. I thought Horner took too much of the bout though. I thought the arm was simple, but effective. Blanchard was good in working in the hope spots for Horner, along with his usual high standard of work. Horner is an athletic worker who could have good studio bouts with a heel who didn't feel like guzzling him up. Dillon was good in his role outside counting the cash. Overall, a good bout that should move forward.
April 14, 20169 yr comment_5742337 NWA World TV Title: Tully Blanchard © vs. "White Lightning" Tim Horner (1/3/87)Barry Windham is out here on commentary for this. Horner is very effective early on working over Tully's left arm keeping him on the mat which frustrates Dillon who is already distracted by Windham being there. Tully tries to get to the floor but Horner goes out and brings him back in the ring where he continues to be a buzzsaw. Tully though would punch him in the gut then locked on a figure-four using the ropes on purpose so he could weaken Horner's leg. Horner though fights back and again has Tully on the ropes even getting his O'Connor Roll but he fell back in the ropes and couldn't execute properly. Horner though continues to just pound on Tully who was so good at taking punishment. Horner would catch Tully with a cross body block but Tully tucked and rolled using the trunks to win the match. Barry then told Scrappy McGowan about what happened and then brawled with Tully afterwards before the other Horsemen ran out where they triple teamed Windham and Flair got to slap him in the face. The Horsemen then cut a great promo afterwards. The match is a fairly solid nomination and the angle is great.
