War Games: “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, “The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff, “The Total Package” Lex Luger, “Dr. Death” Steve Williams, & Precious Paul Ellering vs. The Four Horsemen (“The Enforcer” Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, & Barry Windham) & JJ Dillon (7/16/88)

Well it’s War Games in Greensboro so we start with the formula of Dusty & Arn starting it off. This was great stuff as usual with both men juicing heavily and the Horsemen win the coin toss as usual so Windham comes in getting Dusty really fired up. Dusty starts throwin bows on both men as the crowd goes nuts but of course the numbers game would catch up to Dusty and Windham locked the claw. Doc would come in next and started his running tackles with the heels bumping hard. Dusty would start beating the fuck out of Windham as Doc took care of Arn before Flair would come in next. Flair went right for Doc and it’s a shame that these two didn’t get a good run against each other. Dusty was being beaten on 2-on-1 as Flair threw Doc into the cage numerous times causing him to juice. Arn came over and delivered a DDT to Doc as Flair started working on Dusty’s left leg. Luger came in next and he went right for Flair before Windham could come over but both would eat a double clothesline and powerslams. Luger would put Flair in the Torture Rack until Windham fouled him. Dusty & Doc pounded on Arn as Luger kept working on Flair so Windham came over and he got some punishment from Dusty & Doc too. Tully came in next followed by Nikita and the managers with action going all over the place. Tully brought a chair in the ring that was a first for War Games and started using it on Luger’s left leg. Flair finally started juicing after JJ came in as Doc started grinding his face in the cage. Dusty would get Dillon in the figure-four and the Horsemen was held off as Dusty grabbed the ropes and Dillon submitted. Was this the best War Games nope but this was still a great violent bloody brawl and very fun to see Doc hanging with the big boys in War Games. Easy nomination.

Yeah this isn't as good as the best of the War Games, but it is definitely good enough to make a set, and I love it when the WWE released never before seen shit like this. Is there any other Doc v. Flair stuff out there? I like the War Games without Dillon better as the finish isn't as obvious, but the stuff before the obvious finish ruled
