December 31, 200717 yr comment_5426184 I'd lean towards no because more funds for buying more stuff is good, but there are probably a lot of people who would download and watch 150 matches in a low quality window on their PC monitor that aren't the type of people who would spend money on DVDs anyway.
December 31, 200717 yr comment_5426185 Well, right now, I am out of the red with the last wave of donations and already sent emails to Lynch and Friedlander for the next purchases. For Lynch, it is the first 15 or so tapes in the Lynch wishlist. For Steve, it is the Memphis list that Bix put up. So, any money I make from here on out would be a bonus. This obviously doesn't account for the 100 or so discs I just finished copying for Phil's next batch of Memphis but I will take that into account when we ask for Memphis donations. I want to wait until all Mid South sets are mailed before I ask for Memphis donations. So, personally, as someone who sells comps, I am always opposed to uploading matches or giving shit away for free. If you want to upload or allow blanks though, I will not publicly object as long as the extras are not included in the deal.
January 1, 200817 yr Author comment_5426192 Will, you should make an account of how much money you recieve and spend. Make a budget, shipping, blanks all of that. If you end up losing money I would have no problem splitting the losses with you.
January 1, 200817 yr comment_5426193 The biggest concern isn't the money invested in the project since the donations have covered that aspect. It is the loss of time with my comps. However, I am close to completion on several so can you get a yes or no confirmation from Dean on if I can post my sets there in the 80s forum? I won't include prices or anything, just a list of my comps. Since the shills forum went down and my sets have been "out of sight, out of mind", sales have gone cold and that has hurt more than any overhead costs for the project. EDIT: As for an account, I may try something like that but I am developing a plan on how we can be more efficient and make things easier.
January 1, 200817 yr Author comment_5426194 Yeah he said go ahead and post the match lists in the Wrestling forum
January 1, 200817 yr comment_5426195 I'm not too hot on people leeching the stuff from any section of the 80's project but it is going to happen anyway with people getting their sets and there will be some that will put the stuff online regardless.
January 1, 200817 yr comment_5426216 I vote against downloads. People who download will pick and choose what they want to watch. Less likely to watch full list and participate. Also since Watts son now has his own youtube account and seems to be policing youtube, I think more likely to run into shit with him if we have them avaialable to download then if we do the disc format of distribution.
