Chicky Starr vs. Invader III (Axe Handle on a Pole Match)

Too long and really dull, I kind of liked some of the fighting on the pole spots, but really nothing else was noteworthy.

Hurricane Castillo Jr. & Miguel Perez vs. The Kansas Jayhawks (Jaggers & Kroffat) (Double Dog Collar Match)

This was the reason I got this tape, but this was nothing special. They beat on each other with chains for a bit with all four guys bleeding. Perez gets a roll up for the win, but this never kicked into the next gear

Puerto Rican Champ TNT vs. Buddy Landell

This was pretty good, Buddy comes in without kneepad, but still takes bump which is strange. Buddy basically works a fake Flair match taking high back drops and face flops. Some nice chops here too. I could see this making a set, but I think it was slightly below a nomination level, just nothing blew me away. Would like to see what others think

Jimmy Valiant & Rufus R. Jones vs. The Wild Samoans

It was amusing to see the Samoans bump all around the ring for old ass Valient and Rufus, they probably sold more in this match then they did in their entire WWF run. I really liked Rufus boogieing out of headlocks with his slick jheri curl. Boogie Woogie actually takes sort of an over the top rope bump. I enjoyed this more then I should have, but this doesn't belong any where near a set.

WWC Heavyweight Champ Hercules Ayala vs. Carlos Colon (Fire Match) 9/10/88

This was pretty goddamn great, just a nutty spectacle with crazy crowd littering the ring with garbage, the ring encased in flames. Match itself was fine, both guys are decent brawlers, and Colon got his head pushed into the flames multiple times. I also loved the finish with Colon refusing to release the figure four, including puttting Ayala back into it post match. Good shit.

Axehandle On A Pole Match: Invader III vs. Chicky Starr (October 1988) Well at least this was a pole match where the guys were trying to climb the pole and they were vigorously trying to grab the axehandle but when they were battling in the ring they were slugging it out pretty good. No frills action as they pounded each other bloody before Chicky would finally grab the axehandle but he missed coming off the top with it so Invader got the axehandle after a struggle and hit him once but missed another time with Chicky answering back with a reverse atomic drop to win. Fun action with these guys working hard and this is a low-end pick

Double Dog Collar Match: Huracan Castillo Jr. & Miguel Perez Jr. vs. The Kansas Jayhawks ("Hangman" Bobby Jaggers & Dan Kroffat) (October 1988) This is another no frills all action war as the heels use the chain early and often to get the blood flowing from the faces before the tables would turn and the faces would use the chains to bring out the blood from the heels. This is a short match as Huracan would the chain to cradle Kroffat up to win but damn was this fun and violent. Like I said this was short but violent and I'm pushing this forward as a high low-end pick.

Caribbean Heavyweight Title: TNT © vs. Buddy Landell (August 1988) Landell gets worked over to start the match as TNT has him reeling so he falls to the floor to regroup and when he comes back in he starts firing chops but TNT stays strong and follows him back to the floor for some brawling before they bring the action back in the ring. Buddy can't get the advantage as he tries but TNT cuts him off until he kicks him in the ribs before hitting a corkscrew elbow for a nearfall. Landell would focus on TNT's left leg for a bit before eventually going to the figure-four leglock with TNT doing a really good job of selling the pain and the fans are going nuts for this. TNT reverses the hold with Landell getting the ropes to break free setting up the TNT comeback where he would lock on the cobra hold but Landell rammed him in the corner to break free. Landell would miss a high knee and TNT would pin him after pulling Landell's foot off the rope in an interesting finish to say the least. Good match and I'll push it forward as a low-end pick.

Next we get a "Sadistic" Steve Strong video to Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden. This was awesome.

Rufus R. Jones & Jimmy Valiant vs. The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) (9/10/88) Fun seeing Rufus & Valiant together doing their schtick but that was about it here as this wasn't any good. Next we get a video of TNT teaching his Tae Kwon Do class to a bunch of kids while wearing his facepaint.

Inferno Match: Carlos Colon vs. Hercules Ayala (9/10/88) Ayala is getting pelted with trash as he comes to the ring which is great. The wire around the ring ropes are on fire and this is quite the fucking visual here and they start throwing each other into the fire early. Ayala trying to ram Colon's face in the fire with the tight camera shot was awesome. Colon comes back and forces juice from Ayala before trying to burn him and this is some great shit. The back and forth action continues as both men beat the shit out of each other before Colon locks on the figure-four to win and refuses to break the hold after the match.
