Posted January 2, 200818 yr comment_5426249 This was tremendous. The match was worked European style. Wright was just awesome on the mat using all this these carny escapes and reversals. The guys would do acts of sportmanship by shakeing each others hand while in some leg locks. It was cooler than it sounds.Overall, this was excellent and I decided to throw it on the nomination block. I need to see more Wright. (NJC 122)
December 1, 200817 yr comment_5436083 Wright was a blast with all his funky Euro matwork and counters. I enjoyed him more than the match, which featured a lot of clever one upsmanship but very little drama. It's still worth moving forward, given that a lot of the fun of this project comes from unearthing little-seen but excellent workers.
May 25, 200916 yr comment_5439919 Yeah this was great, I liked this as much as any NJ Tiger Mask match we have seen. Wright was just so tricky and this was one of the few times Sayama didn't look smoked by the better guy. I liked this more then Childs, and this feels like a definite to me.
June 13, 200916 yr comment_5440684 Tiger Mask vs. Steve Wright (WWF Junior Title) - So badass. If you watch Lynch’s Europe stuff, you see a bunch of Steve Wright stuff on there. Wright takes his Euro counters and incorporates them into a typical Tiger Mask match to give us a completely unique experience. Wright focuses on the leg and stretches Sayama’s knee ten ways from Sunday. I love how later on, Sayama turns the tides and Wright ends up with tender legs. The crowd was lukewarm in the beginning but warmed up to Wright real quick. Easy nomination.
