March 9, 200817 yr comment_5429189 Prior to this match is a clip where they fight to the dressing room. Then we get this monster. This is a fucking no holds brawl. If they aren't using something as a weapon then they are laying in the stiff shots. Every impact between opponents has force behind it. I agree that the finish was bogus but this was a fight and I can forgive the finish the same way I forgave the finish to Sawyer-Duggan. Top 10 easily and a slam dunk nomination.
May 7, 200817 yr comment_5431161 I liked the finish, no problem with punching the ref to end a brawl. Man Eddie Gilberts tackles were awesome, as were Rich's punches, and everything else. Yeah this is the shit.
August 2, 200817 yr comment_5433538 Falls Count Anywhere: The New Fabs (Eddie Gilbert & Tommy "Wildfire" Rich) vs. The Pretty Young Things (Norvell Austin & Koko Ware) (5/14/84) Holy shit was this awesome and it's great that the PYT's greatest opponents ever were both incarnations of the Fabulous Ones. These four were just beating the hell out of each other both in and out of the ring in a true blood feud, which was what the Gilbert/Rich singles should've been. PYT's were such a ruthless heel team and it's a shame that Koko wasn't a heel more often because his runs in Memphis were phenomenal. Wildfire was great here working as the Robert Gibson just throwing bombs on the PYT's and Gilbert was pretty good in the Ricky Morton role. They would brawl to the stage which was an awesome touch but stopping the match was fucking ridiculous considering it was falls count anywhere but it wasn't a No DQ so I guess it had some merit. Nonetheless this was fucking tremendous and a slam dunk nomination.
