Posted January 7, 200817 yr comment_5426511 Fun mid-card technical match, worked pretty straight which is strange since I thought Poffo turned back to being a heel by this point. Various cool GYMNASTICS IS THE STRONGEST ATTACK spots from Poffo before a weird finish where he gets DQed for using a top-rope moonsault press, as they were enforcing top rope dive DQs at that point. Enjoyable enough that it felt like a low-end nomination to me. A question for Kris: What was Les Thatcher doing there? He was on commentary with Michael St. John. Was he working with All-South at the time (there was an ASW presence on the card)?
March 7, 200817 yr comment_5429078 I am going to have to say no to this one. Poffo was fun as hell but Oski was so blah that I don't think I can recall one thing he did in the match besides the Atomic Drop. If we can find a heel, gymnastics Poffo match, that would be great.

July 28, 200817 yr comment_5433312 Jerry Oske vs. Lanny Poffo (4/22/85) Michael St. John & Les Thatcher are on commentary here. This is from the failed ESPN taping which brought together CWA, ICW, & Ann Gunkel’s group for a big show at MSC. I can only imagine if they had done this right how different CWA would’ve been with an ESPN deal. Regarding the match, the work was fine here but like Phil I hated the finish and there were better matches with these two.
