Posted January 9, 200817 yr comment_5426731 This is for the CWA tag titles held by the Stud Stable. Grundy your big fat hillbilly who comes to ringside with a chicken and a jug on moonshine. Stud Stable are stooging gods here, from Fuller taking a swig of moonshine, to threatening the chicken, to bumping like freaks for semi- useless Grundy. You had the great powder finish, which gets reversed and Grudy smacking Golden with the moonshine jug to win the titles. Then you have the Stable go after the chicken with Grundy pulling off Miss Sylvia's top and falling in love. Lots of fun, and I am throwing it up. CWA 2/25 + 3/5/89
January 12, 200817 yr comment_5426957 Grundy and Steiner are nothing and this really is a Fuller/Golden show but fuck this is an entertaining show. I mean giant smile on my face all the way though it. The jug finish ruled...and Miss Sylvia's facial selling is hillarious. Lance Russell:" You might not want to take Miss Sylvia to the farm to see your mother"!!!
February 22, 200817 yr comment_5428384 CWA Tag Titles: Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden © vs. Jed Grundy & Scott Steiner (2/18/89) Fuller takes a swig of Jed’s moonshine as a kind gesture and he runs out of the ring to clear his throat. The early part of the match is the Studs taking Jed’s comedy offense and even the multi-man train. Studs cheat to get the advantage and Sylvia used the kendo stick on Scotty as he was on the floor. Steiner would get Fuller in an O’Connor Roll as the referee was distracted and Sylvia threw powder in his eyes leading to Fuller getting the pin to retain their titles. The referee then saw the powder and decided to restart the match so the Studs start back working on Scott but Jed would hit Golden with the jug leading to him getting pinned and new champs. The face locker room clears to celebrate as the Studs whine to Lance & Eddie Marlin. Studs then go after the chicken but Jed & Scotty run them off and Jed strips Sylvia making him very excited. This was fun stuff and I cosign Phil’s nom.
March 8, 200817 yr comment_5429179 I love watching Steiner playing the FIP and getting his ass kicked. What is so sad is that he looked better than 9/10 of the AWA and Memphis rosters when he wrestled for those companies. I don't really get where Tom was coming from when the first half was all Grundy comedy shtick. Maybe you can elaborate. Anyway, the excitement from the crowd in the studio was genuine emotion. For years, they have been fed tag matches where a marquee name is paired with a jobber only to see the jobber take the fall. To see said jobber win a title is something really special to see. For that reason alone, this should move forward.
