Austin Idol Promo Tony Charles vs. Billy Robinson - Clipped up Clips of Lawler-Valiant Rich & Dundee vs. Davis & Jerry Novak - Clipped up Masked Mexican Wrestler presents Jerry Lawler an award (EXTRA) Ferris & Latham Interview Ferris & Latham vs. Rick & Robert Gibson - Shit, I guess this concession Stand Brawl deserves to go on as well. Robert Gibson Interview (Ferris & Latham attack) Paul Ellering & Jimmy Hart Interview - Damn, you can never tell what Paul Ellering is going to look like next. Paul Ellering vs. Jimmy Valiant - Clip of title change Ferris & Latham vs. Lawler & Dundee - Wasn't this Concession brawl from the 70s? Dundee & Dream Machine Interview Dundee & Dream Machine vs. Ferris & Yamamoto - I wasn't digging this. Dundee & Rich vs. Idol & Mantell Dundee & Rich win tag titles. Lawler vs. Funk - I think this was the match that was already nominated with Lawler pulverizing Funk's leg at the end. Also includes Funk and Lawler promos. Definite nomination. If this is the same match as the commercial version, I'll have to see if they are both complete. Jimmy Hart Interview (EXTRA) Lawler vs. French Angel & Gypsy Joe - Nothing happening here. Jerry Lawler Interview (EXTRA)
January 10, 200817 yr comment_5426818 Masked Mexican Wrestler presents Jerry Lawler an award (EXTRA)"Hector, tell him in Mexican..." Ferris & Latham vs. Rick & Robert Gibson - Shit, I guess this concession Stand Brawl deserves to go on as well. I can see this being an extra for completeness but I thought it was pretty lame. An uninteresting concession stand squash. Ferris & Latham vs. Lawler & Dundee - Wasn't this Concession brawl from the 70s? Yes. Dundee & Rich vs. Idol & Mantell Dundee & Rich win tag titles. I dug this a ton. Lawler vs. Funk - I think this was the match that was already nominated with Lawler pulverizing Funk's leg at the end. Also includes Funk and Lawler promos. Definite nomination. If this is the same match as the commercial version, I'll have to see if they are both complete. Same match, if I had to guess I'd say they were equally complete.
February 27, 200817 yr comment_5428761 No DQ, No Time Limit Handicap Match for the Southern Tag Titles: “Wildfire” Tommy Rich © vs. The Bounty Hunters (David & Jerry Novak) (2/2/81) This is clipped from MSC. Dundee had been injured before the match so Rich went on his own and put up a valiant fight before the numbers game caught up to him. Dundee returned though to even the odds by beating the hell out of Jimmy Kent before going nuts in the ring. Austin Idol cuts a great bleeped promo from MSC on 2/2/81 about his match with Lawler and this should be an extra. They show highlights of Tony Charles/Billy Robinson from MSC on 2/2/81 and it looks like it was great. They show a video of Lawler getting his ass kicked by Valiant which is funny as Lawler is sitting there. They show highlights of Dundee/Rich vs. Bounty Hunters from MSC on 2/9/81. Diamante Negro shows up to present Jerry Lawler with a plaque and this is a homerun extra. They show highlights of the 1980 version (4/11/80) of the Tupelo Concession Stand Brawl with The Blonde Bombers vs. Ricky & Robert Gibson and this is another homerun extra as even though it is the lesser of those brawls, it still fucking rules. Robert Gibson would then cut a promo before being attacked by the Bombers. Paul Ellering & Jimmy Hart come out in matching tuxedos to gloat about him winning the Southern Heavyweight Title on 4/6/80 in Jackson, TN and show highlights from the match. Next we get the Original Tupelo Concession Stand Brawl from June 15, 1979 in Tupelo featuring the Blonde Bombers vs. Dundee & Lawler. This was awesome but not in the 80’s. Big Red cuts a promo that is hilarious then saves Eddie Gilbert from being attacked by El Toro & The Turk. (3/14/81) Dundee & Dream Machine come out to interrupt a great Jimmy Hart/Wayne Ferris/Tojo Yamamoto promo by beating their ass. Then they show highlights of their match from MSC on 3/9/81. (3/14/81) CWA Tag Titles: “Universal Heartthrob” Austin Idol & “Dirty” Dutch Mantell © vs. “Superstar” Bill Dundee & “Wildfire” Tommy Rich (3/12/81) Both teams looked great here as Dundee & Rich were a really solid team and the heels were great at beating down their opponents with both Dundee & Rich being FIP’s. The finish was really well done too making this an easy nomination. Tojo Yamamoto introduces Masa Fuchi & Atsushi Onita to the Memphis crowd but Jimmy Hart wants to be their manager and Tojo doesn’t want that to happen. (3/21/81) No DQ: Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. Terry Funk (3/23/81) This is simply awesome and as easy as it gets for a nomination. Both men are just insane on offense plus double juice to go with Funk being fantastic in every thing he did. Jimmy Hart declares that First Family is dead as Lawler has ran them all out of town and that he would leave Memphis. This is part of a tremendous story and a definite extra. (4/4/81) Lawler Joins First Family vs. Losers Leave Town: Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. The Angel & Gypsy Joe (3/30/81) Lawler gets the win. Lawler then cuts a promo about Hart’s promo earlier that is great and another part of the story.
February 27, 200817 yr Author comment_5428766 Bill Dundee & Tommy Rich vs. Austin Idol & Dutch Mantel (Memphis) - Damn, Dundee and Rich are punching machines. I know people say Lawler had nice punches. Tommy Rich had nice punches. Dundee spent most of the match as FIP leading up to the hot ending. Dundee small packages Dutch for the pin but the ref is outside trying to break apart an outside brawl. Dundee gets his attention as Dutch gets a foreign object. Dutch swings, misses and DUndee gets a roll up for the pin. I'll have to double check on how much time was missed but for what we saw, this is an easy nomination. (from Highlights 3)
