Posted January 10, 200817 yr comment_5426816 Ted DiBiase vs. Chick Donovan (5/15/82) Teddy makes his return to Techwood in a good little match. Tommy Rich brings out a rabbit and a pig to mock Piper & Ole. “Bad Bad” Leroy Brown vs. Ed Timbs (5/15/82) This is JIP with Flair doing commentary as they are building to a Flair/Leroy match and this is the start of a fun little series of angles. Flair is fucking great here wanting to arm-wrestle Leroy. Roddy Piper brings out Dr. X (Magnificent Muraco) and another great angle is born (6/5/82) The VQ is very shitty for this episode. Dr. X (Muraco) vs. Allen Tupperello (6/5/82) Squash and Piper is great on commentary. Bullet Bob brings out the Jackass of the Month award for Roddy Piper. Buzz Sawyer vs. Randy Barber (6/5/82) Sawyer destroys Barber as Orndorff is on commentary then they get into a verbal confrontation afterwards. Superstar jumps Mr. Wrestling II as he starts his match and reignites their long standing feud. Dr. X (Muraco) vs. Mike Jackson (6/5/82) Another squash. The Fabulous Freebirds reunite on TBS in an awesome angle that is a definite extra. (6/5/82) Paul Orndorff vs. Buzz Sawyer (6/12/82) This starts out with a fast pace and with Piper & Ole on commentary so Kevin Sullivan shows up to watch as well. The match becomes a solid back and forth match with both men trading the advantage numerous times but it runs out in a TV draw. They show video of Orndorff’s football career at University of Tampa. (6/19/82) Piper cuts an insane promo here with Dr. X and brings out Abdullah the Butcher Paul Orndorff vs. Buzz Sawyer (6/19/82) This is a rematch from last week’s draw and the pace picks up where we left off last week as both men come out trading the advantage. Both men show their great agility here and are very fluid in their movements as Orndorff was at his peak as a worker and Sawyer was just beginning his. Buzz would hit a fucking great powerslam for a nearfall which shocked everyone and Solie was awesome in displaying that. Orndorff makes a great comeback and Solie was on fire on commentary as the match goes to a TV draw again. This was a tremendous studio match and a nomination. They show highlights of the Dusty/Rich vs. Ole/Piper match from 6/20/82 at the Omni with Dr. X getting unmasked as Magnificent Muraco. Muraco grabs a chair and starts bashing Dusty’s leg. Piper & Muraco then cut a promo celebrating this injury. Magnificent Muraco vs. Chick Donovan (6/26/82) Muraco looks great here as he wasn’t fat yet and was still a really solid worker. Muraco kills Chick with the Muraco Tombstone Driver. Muraco & Piper were awesome together. They show II vs. Superstar from 6/20/82 and it ends up with Ole/Hansen confronting Steve O at the desk. They show highlights of Roy Rogers (Johnny Rich) from Memphis pimping his arrival to Georgia. (7/10/82) Piper sends an awesome promo in from WCPQ Studios in Charlotte because he has been banned from TV. GCW airs the awesome Kamala debut video from Memphis. They show Flair vs. David Jones from 5/15/82 to pimp his upcoming matches with Orndorff & Rich (7/24/82) Ole Anderson has been banned from TV so the scheduled tag match he was in becomes this. Buzz Sawyer vs. Kevin Sullivan (7/24/82) These two have had a good feud for the past 4 months so this is a natural matchup. This had some good action here as Buzz was really coming along as a complete worker and Sullivan still was pretty good. The match went to the floor with both men just pounding each other for a double countout. Fun stuff. Bobby Simmons & Jerry Brisco come out showing the film where Ole & Hansen destroyed Michael Hayes in a locker room getting them banned from TV for this week. This was great stuff and should be an extra. Freebirds come out and cut a promo in response setting off two great weeks of promos and a fun payoff the next week.
