Gordon Solie starts the 7/31/82 show holding the National Heavyweight Title saying that Orndorff has vacated the title because he putting his full focus on winning the NWA title from Ric Flair. Orndorff then came out and confirmed his decision. Paul Orndorff vs. Pete Martin (7/31/82) Squash. Flair is on commentary expressing his disbelief in Orndorff’s decision. Orndorff & Flair then have a confrontation at the desk. They show a JYD/Carl Fergie squash from Mid-South in 1980 in preparation for his match against Super Destroyer on 8/1/82 at the Omni. Super Destroyer vs. Mike Derrick (7/31/82) Squash with Super D using a spinebuster for the finish. The Freebirds come out and talk about their feud with Ole/Hansen along with watching old footage. “Wildfire” Tommy Rich vs. Abdul Zaatar (7/31/82) Zaatar gives Rich a run for his money. Magnificent Muraco vs. Dale Veasy (7/31/82) Squash. Kevin Sullivan vs. Abdul Zaatar (7/31/82) Sonny King shows up at ringside to scout Sullivan then does color commentary and he was fucking great as a heel because he was cool as a cucumber never getting angry. Iron Sheik vs. Randy Barber (7/31/82) King manages Sheik and Sheik twirls the persian clubs. Sullivan taunts Sheik from ringside. Freebirds are supposed to wrestle Ole & Hansen but they aren’t ready to wrestle yet. Tom Prichard vs. Pete Martin (7/31/82) Spotlight match for Prichard. Birds come back out wanting Ole & Hansen but they don’t show up. Buzz Sawyer vs. Tony Giancaro (7/31/82) Squash. Tito Santana vs. Mike Jackson (7/31/82) Good little match. After this match Santana & Terry Gibbs are at the desk calling Ole & Hansen cowards, which of course would bring them out setting them up for a brawl with the Birds with everyone going nuts. Masked Superstar vs. Mike Jackson (6/19/82) This is from the Best of Sunday show. II shows up at ringside to scout Superstar. Jackson puts up a good showing as usual. DVD runs out right before the finish.
