Posted January 13, 200817 yr comment_5427002 Amusing show, as it was built around Tux Newman as almost a Dusty Rhodes in NWAish guy, that everyone focused their promos around. Nothing much match wise, although I enjoyed the short Adrian Street v. Speedy Tall Tree match which ended in a Debbie Combs v. Miss Linda ZERO ONE pull apart brawl. The angle with a Tux Newman managed Savage trying to take out Lawler's eye was cool too, but nothing that makes a set.
May 1, 200817 yr comment_5430988 Tux Newman comes out announcing that he has signed up Poffomania for his stable. Iron Mike Sharpe vs. Tracy Smothers (3/16/85) Smothers is just a rookie here and gets squashed. “Dirty” Dutch Mantell vs. The Invader (3/16/85) Dutch is back from a stint in Florida. “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert & “Leaping” Lanny Poffo vs. David Haskins & Tojo Yamamoto (3/16/85) Squash. Stan Lane cuts a promo on Tux saying that the Fabs will get rid of him soon. Then we get clips of Poffomania turning heel on Lawler at MSC after losing to Bockwinkel. Tux then leads his army (Gilbert, Sharpe, Poffomania) out to go after Lawler trying to rip his eye out. Marlin comes out to get rid of them. This is a definite extra. (3/16/85) “Macho Man” Randy Savage vs. Billy Travis (3/16/85) Squash. A bandaged Lawler tries to come out and get him some but is held back. Lawler would come back out and demanded that Savage come back swinging a steel chair and a barstool. Great stuff. The Louisville Sluggers (Tim Ashley & Steve Constance) vs. Jerry Bryant & Mr. Wrestling (Tommy Gilbert) (3/16/85) Match ends in a DDQ when all 4 men were fighting in the ring and wouldn’t stop. Harley & JR Hogg vs. Bart & Brad Batten (3/16/85) Hogg’s look like Luke Graham’s bastard sons. Pretty much a squash. Adrian Street comes out and cuts a promo on the rednecks. Next we get clips of Koko Ware vs. Jack Hart from Florida where he nukes him with the Ghostbuster. Exotic Adrian Street vs. Speedy Tall Tree (3/16/85) This is Tree’s debut as Jeff Walton aka Tux Newman’s influence has brought him in. These two have a past in Los Angeles 3 years earlier so they worked pretty well together here. It didn’t go long though has Linda tripped him for the win. Debbie Combs came out of the crowd and attacked Linda in a cool little twist before they had a pull-apart.
