Posted January 15, 200817 yr comment_5427110 Rock N Roll Express vs. Ric Flair & Lex Luger - Flair vs. Morton is still one of the best matchups ever. Morton vs. Luger is wierd. Here you have Luger selling for Morton, allowing Morton to control with a headlock and even standing his ground after a couple of shoulder blocks. The RNR both get figure fours on the Horsemen in a nice turnaround spot. Gibson plays FIP in this one and the Horsemen work over the leg. What is really surprising about this match is how long the RNR controlled the match. However, the end was satisfying as Morton has Flair rolled up but LUger has the referee held so he doesn't make the count but Luger gives Morton a clothesline to the back of the head and this allows Flair to make a pin... with feet on the ropes for good measure. Good solid tag team action and a nomination.
August 3, 201411 yr comment_5616858 This is a solid nomination. We get an opening shine segment mixed in with some heel moments, but ultimately the faces are standing tall. Flair and Morton have great interactions. Even with Luger being pretty green Morton works well with him. They get the heat on Gibson and this is really good stuff. The finish here I really liked.
June 1, 20169 yr comment_5755602 The Dream Team ("Nature Boy" Ric Flair & "Total Package" Lex Luger) vs. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (6/6/87)Morton & Flair had some fun exchanges early before Luger came in and this was a different dynamic than any other Horsemen/RnR match as Luger was the power guy who could throw around the RnR which was something the Horsemen never had before. When Flair comes in the ring it's more business as usual and his work with both RnR is really good. The RnR would get stereo Figure-Four Leglocks but the Horsemen would break free and Luger would throw Gibson around on the floor to give the Horsemen the advantage. Luger would weaken Gibson so Flair could come in to get the Figure-Four Leglock which he used the ropes for leverage so he had to break the hold. The Horsemen continued to focus on Gibson's leg though but Gibson would roll over getting the hot tag to Morton who ran wild on Flair chasing him to the floor where he posted him then bashed his head on the ringside table. Morton climbed up top and hit him with a shot but Luger broke up a pinfall setting off a 4-way brawl. Flair eats a Double Dropkick but again Luger makes the save. Luger attacks Morton from behind and then they miss a double clothesline as Gibson tripped Luger. Morton then got an O'Connor Roll on Flair but Luger hit him with a clothesline from behind to win. Very fun match and a low-end nomination.
