Disc 1 (Super Towns on the Superstation)

Barry Windham vs. Arn Anderson (6:02) (6:10) (12:12)

- I know Loss dissed this match awhile back in a conversation and I wanted to watch it and report how good it was and how he was wrong. Well, he was right. This is the dullest Arn Anderson or Barry Windham match I cna ever remember seeing. Even when Windham went over the o pand into the rail, it barely registered a reaction, probably because half the crowd was asleep. No way in hell this goes on.

Jimmy Garvin vs. Brad Armstrong (4:35) (6:02) (10:37)

- Fuck, watching this back to back with the last match is knocking me out. I need to smoke a pack of cigarettes and drink a gallon of tea to keep me awake. Another boring, tedious match to watch.

Ricky Morton in Concert ("Gimme Three Steps" and "Boogie Woogie Dancehall") (6:42) (EXTRA. Hilarious and bad)

Mod Squad vs. Batten Twins

- This was the best match so far and it was just a really average tag match. Not even close to a nomination.

Ragin' & Ravishin' Interview (3:00) (This interview just falls apart from the beginning. EXTRA)

Rock N Roll Express vs. Ivan Koloff & Vladimir Petrov (11:40)

- Fuck, the first real move of the match and Petrov botches a bearhug. This match was a mess.

Tully Blanchard vs. Dusty Rhodes

- Early on, I was digging this as Dusty was doing his shtick and Tully and JJ were bumping and stooging for him. After that, this falls apart. Tully gains the advantage on the weakest pull to the corner I have ever seen. Then, Tommy Young takes the wildest bump on the weakest contact ever after Dusty hip tosses Tully. Seriously, what the fuck were the suits thinking??? These matches are all taped, all lack heat, are boring as hell yet they decide to air them anyway. I mean I have to look forward to 2 more rematches from Starrcade that I didn't enjoy the first time around. Fuck this disc. You guys watch the rest of it and tell me what you think.

Ragin' & Ravishin' vs. Rock N Roll Express (19:42)

- The crowd is going insane early on. Rude ends up in the RNR corner and gets a few punches for his troubles and the crowd is going insane. This is the kind of heat that was lacking through out the entire STOTST show. The Ricky Morton shine segment was absolutely great with Morton throwing Bull around and the heels bumping and selling for the Express. It is about this time that you can see Rude really coming on strong, selling and just improving on a weekly basis. The RNR stick to working over the arm but it is the selling of Rude that actually puts it over. The tide turns after a commercial break with Gibson playing FIP. Initially, it looked like Gibson botched a throw over the top rope but it was actually Tommy Young who stopped him from going over so the match would not end in a DQ at that time. Then, in a genius move, when Young's back is turned, Rude throws him over on the other side. Sweet spot. The edning was screwy but actually played into the earlier theme as Morton gets disqualified for throwing Bull over the top rope. Screwy ending aside, I think this tag match will hold up against anything else put on this set and it gets a nomination.

Disc 1

Barry Windham vs. Arn Anderson

The body of the match is solid stuff with good grappling, and we see both guys do some work on the arm. Nothing amazing, but good limb work. We get a flash pin. In the end I'm not sure, but worth looking at.

Jimmy Garvin vs. Brad Armstrong

Nothing to write home about. Solid at best.

The Rock n Roll sing EXTRA

Mod Squad vs Batten Twins

NO

Ragin and Ravishing promo

Rock n Roll Express vs Ivan Koloff/Vladamir Petroff

A side bear hug. Fuck lol. Now Ivan's in to shine up the Express. Petroff is such a crow bar. Ivan back in to do heat prope. No for a nomination.

Tully Blanchard vs Dusty Rhodes

Early on this is good stuff with Dusty walking tall and Tully superballing for him. JJ and Tully feeding for Bionic elbows. Tully uses leverage to cut Dusty off. JJ choking him on the outside. Fun match, but not a nom.

TA interview

Flair vs Nikita

Flair worked hard. Nikita brought nothing here. NO.

Road Warriors vs MX Scaffold match

Nope.

Disc 2

I agree with Will's Extra picks

Disc 3

Ragin' & Ravishin' vs. Rock N Roll Express

This is a high end nomination. Man this is a hot crowd. The shine segment was really well done and Fernandez really made them work for it. The hip toss spot on the Bull was awesome. Rude was great in his selling . I loved how they 'd go back to his arm from time to time. Because the heels shined them up so good it made the heat segment get over to an even greater degree. We get a Dusty finish. Man all 4 guys worked so hard here.

Midnight Express vs Ronnie Garvin/Barry Windham

Good shine to start. We are back from break with Condrey having Windham in a clutch. More of an Extra with th fireball.

Supertowns of the Superstation 2/7/87

Barry Windham vs. Arn Anderson (1/13/87)

Okay match but slower paced than what you wanted from these two here but it would pickup as they went to the floor with Windham taking a hard bump over the top rope and getting smashed into the railing. Arn would hit a shitty spinebuster for a nearfall before Windham would lock on a sleeper with Arn going to the ropes sending him to the floor. Windham would come back with a sunset flip over the top for the win. Lackluster.

Brad Armstrong vs. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin (1/22/87)

This was another lackluster match but the matwork was fine and I liked Brad doing MUGA spots. Very crappy finish as Brad goes to punch Garvin in the corner and he chunks him over the top for the DQ.

Rock n Roll Express concert is next and this is a definite EXTRA.

Central States Tag Titles: The Mod Squad (Basher & Spike) © vs. Bart & Brad Batten (1/30/87)

Decent match here with good psychology but that's about it. The finish was almost botched to hell which was funny.

Next we get a promo by Paul Jones along with Ragin & Ravishing and this is great for all the wrong reasons. Extra material.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff & Vladimir Petrov (1/16/87)

GOD Petrov is terrible here as he botches a bearhug right after the match starts. This wasn't good at all.

Next we get Tony Schiavone pimping Crockett Cup 87 with Gary Juster.

NWA World TV Title: Tully Blanchard © vs. "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (1/29/87)

Dusty is great early doing what he does best and Tully was one of the best to eat the flip flop and flying. Dillon also gets brought in the ring for some fun as well and this is easily the best part of the match. I liked Dusty using the slingshot suplex after Tommy Young was bumped to the floor which would bring out Arn Anderson to attack Dusty but Windham would tell Tommy what happened causing a brawl seeing Barry count out Tully and the match was thrown out.

Next is Magnum TA's first interview since his car crash and this is a slam dunk extra.

No DQ Match for the NWA World Heavyweight Title: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair © vs. "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff (1/11/87)

Fun match with Flair doing his normal schtick but he added some different stuff such as using a piledriver which Nikita no-sold as Tony preached that it was an illegal move in a regular match. Nikita breaking out the figure-four was nice and the crowd was going nuts for this. The crowd here was the hottest one on the whole show mainly because they were in Charlotte. We get the customary ref bump even in a no DQ match which makes no sense so Nikita could hit his Russian Sickle off the middle rope. Tully would show up to attack Nikita with Flair rolling over him but it's a nearfall. Flair is juicing here and hurts himself trying to get Nikita over the top rope so this turns into a brawl on the floor with Tully & Dusty getting involved as the match ends in a double countout. No nomination.

Scaffold Match: The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) (1/29/87)

If you saw the Starrcade 86 match this is almost the same exact match. Not really good.

World Championship Wrestling 2/14/87

Ronnie Garvin & Barry Windham come out to start the show cutting a promo about the MX.

"Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. Tommy Angel (2/14/87)

Squash.

Cornette & MX come out next to counter the US tag champs promo from earlier.

Bullet Bob Armstrong cuts a promo next about being in the Crockett Cup.

"Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin & Barry Windham vs. Randy Barber & Jack Jackson (2/14/87)

Squash.

Next we get highlights from the 2/14 episode of NWA Pro where Dick Murdoch turned heel on Dusty & Nikita and this is a definite extra.

Tully is out next for a promo talking about his new associate Lex Luger.

"Total Package" Lex Luger vs. Kent Glover (2/14/87)

Squash and Lex joins Tully & Dillon for a promo afterwards.

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. Zane Smith (2/14/87)

Squash.

The Kansas Jayhawks come out for a promo afterwards.

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin vs. David Isley (2/14/87)

Squash.

Flair comes out next in a fantastic suit and cuts a great promo mostly about fucking. Definite extra.

The Super Powers are out next for a promo about Murdoch turning on them. Good stuff especially with Dusty basically saying that all Murdoch had was Japan while he had titles. Extra material.

The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Larry Stevens & Ricky Sullivan (2/14/87)

Squash.

Valiant is out next for a promo but doesn't kiss Schiavone. What a shame.

Ivan Koloff, "Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch, & Vladimir Petrov vs. Alan Martin, Chance McQuade, & Randy Mulkey (2/14/87)

Total squash.

Cornette comes back out with MX & Bubba for a good promo.

Big Bubba Rogers vs. George South (2/14/87)

South has no chance.

Ragin & Ravishing come out for a promo with Paul Jones and the best part of this is easily Bull's Skoal Bandit satin jacket.

The Kansas Jayhawks ("Hangman" Bobby Jaggers & "Dirty" Dutch Mantell) vs. Vernon Deaton & Keith Vincent (2/14/87)

Jayhawks are being put on the backburner some at this point but still look good.

Gorgeous Jimmy & Precious are out next for a promo talking about retiring because he has beaten everyone.

Bullet Bob Armstrong vs. The Demon (2/14/87)

Easy win for the Bullet.

NWA Pro Wrestling 2/21/87

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin vs. David Isley (2/14/87)

Garvin hits a Brainbuster in seconds to win.

Bob Caudle interviews Dick Murdoch, Ivan Koloff, & Vladimir Petrov next about why Murdoch did what he did the week before to Dusty and he said that Dusty & Nikita will be destroyed. Murdoch calling the fans "kayfabers" is amazing. Extra material.

Ric Flair joins Tony Schiavone next for a promo talking about how Murdoch is a man again and that Dusty Rhodes is losing his friends one by one.

"Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff & "Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch vs. Brodie Chase & Randy Mulkey (2/14/87)

Murdoch just kills these guys on the floor then in the ring while yelling for The Super Powers to come out. Petrov gets a shot in after the match as well.

Tully joins Tony Schiavone next talking about Luger being a great addition as an associate to the Horsemen and how great he is as the TV champ.

"Total Package" Lex Luger vs. Keith Patterson (2/14/87)

Luger makes easy work of Patterson.

Cornette and his boys join Tony next talking about how the time has come for Garvin & Windham to lose their US Tag Titles on TV later today.

"White Lightning" Tim Horner vs. David Isley (2/14/87)

Good spotlight match for Horner.

The Super Powers join Tony next where Nikita talks about how great America is and he loves it. Nikita then calls Murdoch a Russian now and Dusty talks about Murdoch leaving him for Japan in 1974 and how he has someone now that will stand by him through it all. Definite extra.

US Tag Titles: "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin & Barry windham © vs. The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) (2/14/87)

MX dominates Windham early on and during a commercial break they keep it up. Windham finally gets the hot tag to Garvin who cleans house on the heels KOing Condrey then Windham joins in for a 4-way brawl. Cornette then shoots a fireball in Garvin's face for the DQ then the babyfaces run out to check on Ronnie. Jimmy Garvin & Precious then run out and they help Ronnie out of the ring and out of the building. The match was just okay but the whole Garvin aftermath was tremendous and a slam dunk extra.

World Wide Wrestling 2/21/87

David & Tony start the show talking about their disgust over the Ronnie Garvin fireball angle.

Bullet Bob Armstrong vs. Thunderfoot (2/14/87)

Bullet wins quickly.

Bob Caudle talks with Cornette and his boys next who are celebrating what they did while holding the US Tag Titles they stole. Cornette is great here and this is a definite extra.

Jimmy Garvin joins Bob Caudle next where we get the highlights of what happened with Ronnie getting burned. Jimmy talks about his brother Ronnie and this is a great promo. Slam Dunk Extra.

"Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff & "Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch vs. Tommy Angel & Keith Patterson (2/14/87)

Another mauling by Koloff & Murdoch.

Ric Flair joined Bob Caudle next talking about how Ronnie Garvin should've been expecting anything because Cornette told him he was coming for him. Flair tells Ronnie to suck it up and then talks about Jimmy is making a mistake trying to fight against their side and basically threatens to rape Precious.

Tully, Luger, & Dillon are with Caudle next talking about the Crockett Cup and how he is waiting on invitations for the Cup which makes him nervous because he can't control it.

NWA World Tag Titles: Ragin & Ravishing (Manny Fernandez & Rick Rude) © vs. The Rock n Roll Express (2/14/87)

RnR look great early on and Charlotte is going nuts for them on offense as Bull & Rude are pinballing good for them. Rude in particular did a great job of selling everything here as the RnR viciously worked over his left arm. We go to a break and Gibson was working over Rude and we come back and Gibson is now selling for Manny so we missed the heat switching. It's rare for Gibson to work FIP so this is always a treat and the champs really work him over good. I liked Tommy Young saving Gibson from being thrown over the top rope then missing Rude do it as Morton jumped in the ring with Gibson landing hard on the floor. Gibson fought valiantly trying to get the hot tag to Morton which he does and Morton fires away on Manny before the 4-way brawl gets going. Gibson throws Tommy Young out of the ring to the floor and Morton hits Manny with a big blow to get what looks like a pin but there is no referee. Manny comes back and hits a big cross body block off the top rope but Morotn reverses it into a pinfall which was counted by Roughhouse Fargo. Tommy Young then comes back in the ring and said there was a DQ because he got thrown out of the ring and the champs retained their titles in a Dusty Finish. This was a pretty good match but I'm leaning more on a low-end nomination here.

Tully, Luger, & Dillon are back with Caudle again talking again about the Crockett Cup.

Barry Windham is with Caudle next talking about what happened with Ronnie being burned and he is very angry saying that he is coming for revenge against Cornette and all of his men. Extra material.

"American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs. Vladimir Petrov (2/14/87)

Dusty comes out alone meanwhile Ivan & Vladimir are together and he brawls with them both where he posts Ivan on the floor busting him wide open. Petrov picks up Ivan and carries him away. Petrov comes back right as TV time runs out.

World Wide Wrestling 2/28/87

The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Ole & Arn Anderson) vs. Johnny Ace & Larry Stephens (2/24/87)

This is the last time the Andersons would team up for almost 3 years and it's funny watching them stretch a young Johnny Ace.

Next we get a promo from Jimmy Garvin for the 4/4 show in Boston and how real wrestling is coming there now.

Ric Flair then joins Caudle saying that the Crockett Cup is nothing without the Horsemen and that they will dominate the event. He also talks about Boston saying that he is more man in his finger than Larry Bird in his whole body.

Then we get promos from Tully, Dillon, & Flair for the 4/4 show in Boston.

Baron Von Raschke is out with Caudle next talking about Murdoch turning on him and that he would be there for The Super Powers in their battles against Murdoch & The Russians.

Barry Windham vs. Thunderfoot #2 (2/24/87)

Windham wins in seconds.

Murdoch & The Russians are out next talking about turning on Dusty and we get clips of Murdoch & Raschke vs. Ragin & Ravishing in St. Louis where Murdoch refused to tag in the ring then turns on him too.

"Total Package" Lex Luger vs. Vernon Deaton (2/24/87)

Luger makes it look so easy here.

The Armstrongs join Bob Caudle next talking about all the teams are getting together for the Crockett Cup. They also talk about Murdoch with Bullet Bob talking about Murdoch disgraces the Marines and is yellow.

The MX & Bubba are with Bob Caudle next as Cornette is suspended and they talk about how it's a shame that Cornette is suspended and that Ronnie Garvin will never touch Cornette.

NWA World TV Title: Tully Blanchard © vs. Gary Royal (2/24/87)

Tully also puts up his $10,000 as well and he is in no trouble here putting Royal away with the Slingshot Suplex.

Barry Windham is back with Caudle next for a promo about Cornette being suspended but he will meet Ronnie Garvin in a cage and payback is coming. Windham also talks about getting their US Tag Titles back as well.
