Charles wants to do a small trade with me and I'm not sure what to pick out from his giant list. He has a huge amount of original Memphis TV (WMC, Arena, & Lawler Show) from '84-'87 (I'd guess we have much of the '87 Arena covered). Even if something isn't labeled as "Arena," Memphis late in the tape on one of those tapes covering a weekend of Memphis & TBS is the Arena TV.

All of that is Cornette stuff that we'd get w/o tracking problems by going to the source (RF dubbed them w/ a VCR that couldn't track stuff from the one Cornette recorded on).

Yeah I'm leaning towards that, also he might have the '86 Lawler-Dundee loser leaves town which we haven't seen, I'm checking with him if the version I spotted is complete.

He doesn't have any arena stuff from the late 80's right? That seems to be the period with the biggest gaps, we have lots of TV, but hardly any long matches

No arena past '87.

 

The only person I've ever seen w/ '88 arena TV & '89 handhelds is Scott Decker who won't reply to emails.

LEt me know when you get that stuff because I have sent out everything I own Memphis-wise as of yesterday.

Charles said that they should be done Monday, and I'm guessing sent then or during the week.

Before I forget, I was just taping 1633 (yes I couldn't find the first one I taped weeks ago) and realized that this show was not the Jackson show but was a 60 min. WMC show that aired earlier in the morning called "Best of Championship Wrestling". It seemed like it definitely was more than a one shot but I don't recall seeing it around. So that actually makes it even rarer!

Yeah, Michael St. John hosted it from the video tape booth. The rest of the show is fairly timely but they went out of their way to say that this was available for the first time in its entirety. They even included promos for the Colisuem in the same way the would do it for the syndicated shows which was very odd. At the end, Michael St. John says to watch the regular show later on in the morning and to "tell your friends" so this must have aired really early. I don't know how many of these I have but it's probably few. Again, I never watched all of this that closely and probably just forwarded through it at the time. Lawler-Dundee was a great match. Can't wait until you see it. The 1983 match might be better but this is amazing as well with a great crowd.
