Lex Luger & JJ Dillon Interview Lex Luger – Nikita Koloff Brawl (Possible Extra) WCW Ric Flair Interview Mod Squad vs. Alan Martin & El Negro JJ Dillon Interview Arn Anderson vs. Dexter Westcott Ric Flair & Lex Luger vs. Jimmy & Ron Garvin - The hope here is that Ron does the lion's share of the work. The Flair-Ron matchup works its typical magic but when Luger and Jimmy came in, Jimmy came in with the headlock but the 2 didn't really work it. I don't think I have seen a Luger-Ron matchup so that would be interesting to watch. Flair and Garvin engage in a chopping battle that makes Flair's chest bleed!! Holy shit. I don't know if Flair was pissedoff about the blood but the next time these two matched up, Flair went to the chops with extra gusto. Shit, this is the tale of two matches... when Ron and Flair are in and when they are out. Luger and Jimmy were not offensive besides a botched leapfrog/backdrop type deal but Flair and Ron brought the hate. A definite nomination if only so we can discuss it. Just little things like tossing Funk while locked in the armbar. I think the best thing about this match is that it isn't dull like I expected it to be. Lots of technical chainwork and matwork. The match ends in a draw and The Black Assassin (Bill Tabb) comes in and Funk and Assassin attack Rotunda. I'll give this a low level nomination as it will give us a chance to discuss it more. Ivan Koloff & Paul Jones vs. Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts - Not much of a match as it was just heating up when they popped to a commercial and ended fairly quick after the break. Lex Luger & JJ Dillon Interview Dick Murdoch vs. Dr. Death (Texas Death Match) -Not much of a match here either. I think we'll have to stick with the handheld and the UWF series. Rock N Roll Express vs. Midnight Express Recap (JIP)
February 3, 20169 yr comment_5725203 Disc 1 I'm fine with the extras. Disc 2 Flair/Luger vs The Garvins The Flair/Ron pairing was so great and brutal. Jimmy and Luger didn't 't click at all. Luger really sucked here. Their is a lot of good stuff here, but enough bad stuff for me to kick it . Extras are cool Disc 3 Extras are cool Dory Funk Jr vs Mike Rotundo We get some pretty mediocre mat work early. Dory working a headlock. They keep the action going. As soon as I say that Dory takes a powder. I like Rotundo's arm bar lifts. The work is all basic, but it's effective. I liked the fight on the back slide. Dory delivered a nasty knee. I like Rotundo's European upper cuts. Liked how Rotundo held onto the headlock as Dory backdropped him. I liked this, but not enough for a nom. Plus Parv can review this 5 years later and argue about it not making the set.

Nikita is being beaten down until the other babyfaces run out to clean house. Jimmy & Lex would come in to slow it down but it wasn't long before Ric & Ronnie came back to get the fire back. The heels get some shine on Jimmy but he would eventually tag Ronnie back in so he and Flair could tee off on each other again. Flair's chest is bleeding from Ronnie's punishment and that's awesome. Luger comes in and goes for the Torture Rack but Ronnie comes back using his unorthodox offense to get back at the heels. This is a great Ronnie Garvin performance here fighting the odds and just using his will to take over every time the heels try to get an extended run of offense. Flair was just getting brutalized here by Ronnie and Ronnie even gets a nearfall on his sunset flip off the top rope. Flair would finally get the figure-four on Ronnie which brought in Jimmy to make the save immediately so Flair tossed Ronnie to the floor. We get a ton of quick tags here with everyone shifting in and out quickly and the fast pace here is really fun. It turns into a 4-way brawl with Flair tossing Jimmy to the floor then going after Precious. Dillon grabs Precious and tries to walk out with her until the Super Powers show up to protect her. Scrappy Mcgowan eventually gets attacked and the match is called a DDQ and we get Ronnie KOing Luger then Jimmy getting a Brainbuster on Flair with Ronnie making the count. Extra material.Florida Heavyweight Title: Mike Rotundo © vs. Dory Funk Jr. (7/4/87)They are bringing their feud from Florida to TBS and this is Dory's first appearance on TBS in 7 years. This had some pretty decent back and forth action and Rotundo looked solid here in everything he did. Dory was Dory but he was servicable here in hanging with Rotundo. The bell rang right as Rotundo had Dory in the Airplane Spin for the time limit draw and the Black Assassin would run out to attack Rotundo making it 2-on-1 as the jobbers eventually made the save. The match was okay nothing special so I'm going to say no on a nomination.Next we get a promo from Dark Journey as the Horsemen come out to consult Dillon.JJ Dillon vs. Alan Martin (7/4/87)Tony & David put over Dillon on commentary saying that when he was an active wrestler he was one of the best around. This whole segment is just crazy and is a definite extra.Arn then cuts a promo next putting over Dillon and what will happen at War Games as well as calling out Windham and this is a great promo. Extra material.Precious Paul Ellering vs. Cougar Jay (7/4/87)Now it's Ellering's turn to show off and he has Dusty in his corner. Ellering is still in great shape and uses the Rude Awakening of all things before using the Lariat to win. Extra material.Next we get a promo from Paul Jones about the Bash tour and how his charges will get revenge for losing the NWA World Tag Titles. The Birds were very dominant to start the match as Ivan was taking all kinds of offense before Jones attacked Buddy from behind on the apron. Jones would then quickly tag in and out getting shots on Roberts then Ivan would throw Roberts to the floor where Jones would get more shots in as Hayes tried to chase him away. Jones would miss a big knee drop though and Roberts tagged in Gordy who cleaned house on the heels and dropped an elbow on Jones to win the match.Luger & Dillon are out next for a promo talking about Luger's Dating Game in Philly on 7/25 and his upcoming match with Nikita where he guarantees he will be the US Champ.Texas Death Match: "Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch vs. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams (7/2/87)Doc goes after Murdoch's left arm early as they go to the floor and he wraps it around the ringpost a couple of times with Murdoch selling like crazy as Gilbert hugs him. Once back in the ring, Doc continues to really wrench the arm draping it over his body and wringing it then bashes it on the metal around the ringpost. Murdoch would use cheapshots to break free and used the mic stand from ringside to bash Doc's bad arm with it. Murdoch now gives Doc a taste of his own medicine while still selling the armwork from earlier which was nice. Murdoch then tried for a Brainbuster but Doc countered with a suplex seeing Murdoch doing the Curly Howard sell again. Doc fires up and has Murdoch reeling before he missed a shoulder tackle into the corner. Murdoch would then climb up top but when he came down Doc nailed him and both fell at the same time. Dick Woerhle then counted both men out and then declared the first man to get up would be the winner and of course Doc got up but behind Dick's back and Gilbert tripped him up so Murdoch won. Doc would attack both men afterwards. This was a fun match but for Texas Death Match it was a disappointment.Next we get clips of the RnR/MX match from the 7/4 episode of World Wide.
