- Flair is on commentary here. Man, I hated the Garvin Stomp as a kid but he drops a foot on Bobby Eaton's face that was pretty sweet. I have come to the conclusion that I really do not like Jimmy Garvin in these matches. Seriously, this guy is going for the resthold every single chance he gets in every match. I wouldn't mind if he just worked it a little and the fact that he pace changes dramatically everytime his partner is in is no mistake. Flair interferes in the end and Ron gets a rollup pin on Flair to make the fans happy. As for the match, too much Jimmy and not enough Ron. No vote from me. However, Flair gives an interview after the match where they show the Flair interference and continues the feud.

Disc 1 the extras are fine

Disc 2 The Extras are good

Midnight Express vs Garvins

,

We get some jawing to start and we go right to a commercial. Ron Garvin looks great in the shine just beating on Eaton. Tags in Jimmy, but Bobby is ready for him. Lane is in bumping and stooging for the Garvins. Jimmy starts working the leg. They're working over Jimmy then we get another commercial. All around the work is good. This finish I hate in general. No for a nomination.

Disc 3

ok on the Extras

NWA Pro Wrestling 8/8/87

Bob Caudle & Johnny Weaver start the show with Weaver kinda denying that he has taught Dusty the Weaver Lock.

Jimmy Valiant joins Tony next talking about how he has been laying in the weeds lately and he has a new partner now which is Bugsy McGraw who comes out to Three Dog Night and cuts a wild promo.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. David Isley & Ricky Nelson (8/4/87)

The jobbers get a small bit of offense but that doesn't last long.

Luger & Dillon join Tony next talking about his new feud with Dusty Rhodes and we get clips of their match where Dusty seemingly won the US Title with all the babyfaces coming out to celebrate but of course it was a Dusty finish. Then we get clips of Dusty going to the locker room where he put Luger to sleep with the Weaver Lock. Luger then cuts an angry promo saying that Dusty has flicked the switch on him and he will put him out.

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin & Barry Windham vs. The Thunderfeet (8/4/87)

This ends in seconds as the faces steamroll the masked men.

The RnR join Tony next for a promo talking about the Horsemen coming for them and they tell them to bring it on and both call out Tully wanting a shot at the TV Title.

"Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. The Gladiator (8/4/87)

Mr. Torture just mauls him.

Dusty joins Tony next for a promo talking about how Johnny Weaver has been teaching him the Weaver Lock and he talks about how scared he is of Luger then tells Luger to ask Flair about facing him.

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs. Mike Force & John Savage (8/4/87)

A solid win for the Horsemen and then after the match they join Tony with Dillon for a promo talking about how everyone thought the Horsemen would've been dead and buried after the Bash but they are better than ever and coming for the NWA Tag Titles.

Bugsy McGraw vs. Tommy Angel (8/4/87)

Bugsy just mauls poor Tommy.

"Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff vs. Gary Royal (8/4/87)

Nikita smashes him with the Russian Sickle fairly quickly then grabs the mic after the match calling out Luger wanting another US Title match.

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Rocky King (8/4/87)

Flair locks on the Figure-Four and wins in seconds then won't let go of the hold until Ronnie Garvin comes out and breaks it up for him. Garvin & Flair then start brawling as the Spartanburg crowd goes apeshit. This turns into an impromptu match basically with Garvin taking it to Flair who leaves then brings the Horsemen out with him as Garvin cleans house on all of them before they take him down for a beatdown until the other babyfaces run out to clean house. This is a great fucking angle and a slam dunk extra.

World Championship Wrestling 8/8/87

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs. Rocky King & Larry Stephens (8/5/87)

Another impressive showing for the Horsemen and we get a promo from them afterwards where Tully talks shit about the city officials of Atlanta for not having the 75/85 connector completely finished which was hilarious. Arn follows up with a classic Arn style promo as well talking about wanting gold.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Ed Franks & Gary Phelps (8/5/87)

Easy win for the RnR and they cut a promo on the Horsemen afterwards saying that they are coming for the TV Title.

Ronnie Garvin is out next talking about wanting to be the world champ and that Flair is standing in his way then we get clips of Flair vs. Rocky King from NWA Pro where Garvin showed up and we already have this as extra material.

Dillon & Luger are out next for a promo talking about Dusty Rhodes and we get clips of their match from World Wide where Dusty got a pin on Luger but he had thrown him over the top rope for a DQ. Dusty then chased Luger to the locker room and put him in the Weaver Lock. This is a definite extra.

Cornette is out next talking about seeing the Dragnet movie and how he wants to talk about facts regarding how great the MX are.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. David Isley & Ricky Nelson (8/5/87)

Nelson gets a little offense on Lane but that was it as the MX steamrolled these guys.

Mike Jackson vs. Tommy Angel (8/5/87)

They pimp Mike as the Alabama Jr. Champ here and he looks good beating Angel.

Dusty comes out next for a promo about Luger talking about Luger looks great and is a great athlete but he isn't Dusty Rhodes. Dusty then said that Nikita still wants Luger so he has both Super Powers coming for him.

The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael "PS" Hayes & Buddy Jack Roberts) vs. Art Pritts & Dexter Westcott (8/5/87)

Fans love the Birds and they take care of business with no problems and then they cut a promo afterwards about wanting the MX and their US Tag Titles.

"Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert vs. Alan Martin (8/5/87)

This is Eddie's TBS debut and he looks very impressive. Gilbert then cuts a promo afterwards about coming for Dr. Death, The Lightning Express, & Windham wanting all the titles.

Cornette & MX are back out for a promo talking about Stan Lane's birthday being that day and Cornette talking about facing the Mulkey Brothers in Anderson, South Carolina and how it's going to cost them money. Extra material.

"Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff & Barry Windham vs. John Savage & Thunderfoot #2 (8/5/87)

Koloff & Windham is a rare tag team and they dominate their opponents here.

"Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. Mike Force (8/5/87)

Dr. Death was the only force to be reckoned with in this match. Doc cuts a promo afterwards wanting challengers for his title not cartoon people.

Nikita & Windham cut a promo afterwards talking about their individual issues but they will be forming a team more often and they want some tag gold. Nikita then talks shit on Ivan too before leaving.

The Barbarian & "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff vs. Max McGyver & Keith Patterson (8/5/87)

Ivan is pissed about what Nikita said and the heels destroy their opponents. Jones and the heels cut a promo afterwards about Nikita and others.

NWA Pro Wrestling 8/15/87

"American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs. The Gladiator (8/11/87)

A very rare Dusty TV singles match in this era and he uses the Weaver Lock to win in less than a minute as the Columbia, South Carolina crowd goes nuts. Dusty uses the Weaver Lock to win and Weaver tells Dusty to wake him up after the finish. Dusty talks to Weaver after the match and warns Luger that he will get the US Title.

Ronnie Garvin then cuts a promo on Flair talking about what happened last week and Garvin sends a warning to Flair that he will get his title.

The Mod Squad (Basher & Spike) vs. Rocky King & George South (8/11/87)

These two teams had matches in Central States and this was competitive to start but the Mod Squad was too much in the end.

The Barbarian, "Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez, & "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff vs. Denny Brown, Ricky Nelson, & Larry Stephens (8/11/87)

Total squash.

Ric Flair is with Tony next talking about his issues with Ronnie Garvin and still talks about getting Precious to ride Space Mountain.

US Tag Titles: The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin & "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin (8/11/87)

Ric Flair is on commentary with Bob Caudle for this one. The Garvins are dominant early on with the MX being great at bumping and selling for them. Jimmy's bad left knee though was ripe for the picking and the MX once in control became obsessed with destroying the knee. Ronnie was really good at selling the struggle from the apron as Jimmy was great selling in the ring. Flair wants to get in the ring very badly and goes to Cornette wanting in as Jimmy gets the hot tag to Ronnie who starts throwing bombs on the MX then Jimmy starts fighting along with him. Ric then jumps in the ring attacking Ronnie for the DQ but Ronnie just goes nuts on him as Windham runs out to make it even. Ronnie would go behind Flair and got an O'Connor Roll with Tommy Young making the count leading to a hilarious Flair facial. The match was really good but the angle at the end puts it over the top as a nomination.

World Championship Wrestling 8/15/87

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin vs. Cougar Jay (8/12/87)

Easy win for Garvin and we get a promo from Garvin & Precious afterwards talking about teaming witn Windham and coming for Flair.

Kendall Windham vs. The Gladiator (8/12/87)

Gladiator doesn't make it easy for Kendall as he gets some offense in and this is a competitive match. Kendall cuts a promo afterwards and this isn't very good.

"Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. Terry Jones (8/12/87)

Valiant back after an absence and he squashes Jones then cuts a promo afterwards.

Sean Royal vs. Larry Stephens (8/12/87)

Royal still solo here and takes care of Stephens easily. Royal then cuts a promo afterwards talking about Chris Champion is right there with him because he is a mirror illusion.

"Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. Dexter Westcott (8/12/87)

Mr. Torture is all that and thensome here on this poor sapp.

Dusty is out next for a promo talking about the Weaver Lock and Johnny Weaver and that Luger is on short notice. Dusty then talks about coming to Denver & Detroit and how the big time is coming to them now. Dusty then said that Ronnie has Flair's number and Garvin comes over cutting a promo on Flair saying that he can't stop him. Extra material.

Ivan Koloff is out next for a promo talking about wanting titles and then praises Dusty & Flair for being leaders.

The Barbarian & "Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez vs. Rocky King & George South (8/12/87)

Barbarian & Bull just maul these guys.

Next we get clips of Flair & Garvin brawling on NWA Pro. Flair then comes out for a promo pissed off where he takes off his shirt showing his scar from where Garvin chopped him. Flair was really juiced at this point from the development in his neck area. This is a great promo and extra material.

Teijho Khan vs. Keith Steinborn (8/12/87)

Teijho's first match on TBS in many months and he wins easily.

Cornette comes out next talking about how Jay Hickman is the new president of the Cornette Fan Club. Cornette mentioning Hickman being the king of Cheetah III popped me to no end. Cornette then rips on the Freebirds and others. Extra material.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. David Diamond & Ricky Nelson (8/12/87)

Cornette is hilarious on commentary while his boys are very impressive.

The Mod Squad (Basher & Spike) vs. Denny Brown & Italian Stallion (8/12/87)

This is a really competitive match but the Mod Squad outsmart the babyfaces and use illegal double teams to win.

Barry Windham vs. Ed Franks (8/12/87)

Barry outclasses this guy easily and cuts a promo wanting all challengers for his title.

"Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff vs. Colt Steele (8/12/87)

Ivan is out to prove a point and he manhandles poor Colt and then cuts another promo to boot.

World Championship Wrestling 8/22/87

Mike Rotundo vs. Alan Martin (8/18/87)

Easy win for Mike with the fans chanting Airplane Spin being quite the highlight. Rotundo then talked about the Funks stealing his Florida Heavyweight Title belt and he will be getting it back.

"Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. El Negro (8/18/87)

Quick squash.

Dory Funk Jr. is out next carrying the Florida Heavyweight Title which he said was his title and that he is the rightful champion not Rotundo with no one that will take it away from him.

Lazertron & Kendall Windham vs. Dale Laperhouse & Dexter Westcott (8/18/87)

Spotlight match for Lazer & Kendall.

The Lightning Express (Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner) vs. Tommy Angel & Cougar Jay (8/18/87)

Good to see the LX back and the fans are hot and heavy for them as they dismantle these guys. They join Tony for a promo afterwards with their UWf Tag Titles and they want all challengers.

Terry Taylor vs. Italian Stallion (8/18/87)

Taylor is back at Techwood for the first time in 20 months and the fans give him a standing ovation which was great. There is some vocal fans against Taylor as well and Stallion gives Taylor a run for his money. The cameras missed the finish as Stallion got an O'Connor Roll on Taylor but he cut it back using the tights to win. The cameras were showing fans at the time. Taylor then cut a fun heel promo afterwards talking about being back.

"Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez & "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff vs. Rocky King & George South (8/18/87)

The heels destroy these guys.

Kevin Sullivan is out next for a promo and said that he needs Dusty Rhodes to help him in Florida take care of The Sheepherders. Sullivan said that if Dusty helps him then he will help Dusty get rid of the Horsemen. This is a fun promo.

"Gentleman" Chris Adams vs. Colt Steele (8/18/87)

Chris Adams making his debut at Techwood Studios and the fans love him. Chris in JCP would've been awesome if he had stayed on. The fans want a Superkick and Adams eventually obliges them. Taylor jumps Adams after the match but Adams would send him running. Adams then cuts a promo on Taylor after the match.

"Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. Keith Steinborn (8/18/87)

Garvin just toys with Steinborn here pretending to ride him like a horse then beats the shit out of him. Garvin then cuts a promo on Flair afterwards wanting the NWA Title.

Kevin Sullivan vs. Larry Stephens (8/18/87)

Sullivan manhandles this poor guy.

Bugsy McGraw vs. Terry Jones (8/18/87)

Bugsy is all over the place inside and outside the ring and kills Jones then cuts a promo afterwards with Tony with Valiant joining the fun and this was crazy.

The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy & Michael "PS" Hayes) vs. The Thunderfeet (8/18/87)

Gordy is back from Japan and always fun seeing them work Techwood. They spike one of the masked men with a spike powerbomb then cut a promo on the MX and Cornette after the match.
