Brett Wayne Sawyer vs. Pat Rose (4/9/83)

Brett looks good here.

Arn Anderson & Matt Borne vs. Mike Starbuck & Tony Zane (4/9/83)

Squash.

“Wildfire” Tommy Rich vs. Killer Brooks (4/9/83)

Rich was starting to get out of shape at this time of his career as his demons were starting to take control. Rich has to win this match to get a shot at Zbyszko’s National Heavyweight Title. Rich still had his fire and charisma but was missing quickness. The match was fine but the finish was shitty as Rich threw Brooks into Zbyszko who would be backdropped in the ring for the DQ.

“Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer vs. Mike Starbuck (4/16/83)

Atlas is on commentary making this extra good. They force Sawyer to remove the headgear since he lost the right to wear it.

NWA President Bob Geigel sends a message demanding that Flair defend his title against Tony Atlas or he would be stripped and he gives GCW the right to pick a referee.

Ronnie Garvin vs. Pat Rose (4/16/83)

Garvin makes his TBS debut and has One Man Gang on his tights as that was his nickname at this time.

Dusty sends in another great taped promo.

Killer Brooks vs. Tony Zane (4/16/83)

Squash.

National Heavyweight Title: Larry Zbyszko © vs. “Wildfire” Tommy Rich (4/16/83)

Zbyszko got the promotion to make this a TV time limit match not a title time limit so Rich has to beat Zbyszko in 10 minutes. This is the perfect Zbyszko match as he stalls around in and out of the ring playing keep-away from Rich not letting him do much of anything. Zbyszko would start feeling the heat and as soon as Rich locked in the sleeper hold the time ran out. This was fun to watch.

Arn Anderson & Matt Borne vs. Randy Barber & Mike Jackson (4/16/83)

TV time would run out so they showed the finish the next week.

They show a Jack Brisco squash from Florida in 1979.

Ronnie Garvin vs. “Golden Boy” Chick Donovan (4/23/83)

Good little match with Garvin looking great.

They show Zbyszko’s version of the highlights of his match against Rich at the Omni on 4/17/83.

Killer Brooks vs. Randy Barber (4/23/83)

Squash.

National TV Title Tournament: “Capt. Redneck” Dick Murdoch vs. “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer (4/23/83)

This had some really good action with both men going at it full bore. Murdoch would KO Buzz with a boot in the corner as he was running but Buzz would kick out of the pinfall. Murdoch was matching Buzz move for move and was doing leapfrogs and sunset flips. Buzz would hiptoss Murdoch right into Scrappy McGowan but he would get up so Buzz just punched him down to the mat for the DQ. Buzz continues beating on Murdoch after the match but Murdoch would make a comeback before we would have a pull-apart brawl. This was a lot of fun but the finish makes it a maybe nomination for me.

Iron Sheik vs. Zane Smith (4/23/83)

Squash.

Ronnie Garvin vs. Mike Starbuck (4/23/83)

Squash.

They show highlights of Arn/Borne vs. Candy/Lightfoot from the Omni on 4/17/83.

Flair shows up and tells everyone that no one will threaten him in anyway so Bob Geigel shows up and does just that. Flair would eventually sign the contract to face Atlas who would come out and celebrated because he knew who the official would be. (4/30/83)

Killer Brooks vs. Bob Scott (4/30/83)

Squash.

“Golden Boy” Chick Donovan vs. Mike Starbuck (4/30/83)

Spotlight match for Chick.
