(4/30/83) Bill Apter & Craig Peters have a press conference with Larry Zbyszko and these were always funny segments. Ronnie Garvin vs. Ron Horn (4/30/83) Squash. Arn Anderson & Matt Borne vs. Chief Joe Lightfoot & Zane Smith (4/30/83) Squash. NWA President Bob Geigel strips Larry Zbyszko of the National Heavyweight Title due to his recent actions in keeping the title and the fact that he bought the title. They showed Zbyszko’s footage again but this time it was the actual footage going with it. With this stripping that meant at this time that every title in the promotion was vacant. Iron Sheik vs. Zane Smith (4/30/83) Poor Zane it seems like he gets squashed by Sheiky every week. They show highlights of Flair/Atlas from the Omni on 4/3/83 with Ole narrating the footage and he calls out Earnie Shavers which leads to a verbal confrontation. They show a Steamboat/Youngblood squash from Mid-Atlantic on the Best of Sunday show. They show a Dory Jr./Tommy Gilbert match from Mid-Atlantic on the Best of Sunday show. They show Flair vs. David Jones from 5/15/82. Then we get a One Man Gang/Mike Davis match from Mid-Atlantic. Then we get a Mike Rotundo/Bill White match from Mid-Atlantic. Then we get a Briscos/Ben Alexander & Ricky Harris match from Mid-Atlantic. NWA President Bob Geigel announces that there will be a tournament soon for the vacant National Heavyweight Title. (5/7/83) Flair & Rich get into a verbal confrontation at the desk then they show Arn/Borne vs. Blair/Tito from the Omni on 5/1/83 before Flair & Rich get into it again. National TV Title Tournament: Iron Sheik vs. “Wildfire” Tommy Rich (5/7/83) Sheik has a belly dancer with him for this and Flair is on commentary. Zbyszko shows up and takes Homer O’Dell’s spot at ringside and of course would be a hindurance along with Flair causing Rich to get counted out. Sawyer challenges Murdoch to a match but when Murdoch comes out Sawyer says that he can’t wrestle because he isn’t wearing his gear leading to.. Handicap Match: “Capt. Redneck” Dick Murdoch vs. Killer Brooks & “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer (5/7/83) Murdoch is awesome here just beating the hell out of both men but the numbers game catches up to him as he tries to get Buzz in a brainbuster, Brooks jumps him and it’s 2-on-1 for a bit. Murdoch continues to beat ass though using his great punches but still takes a beating in the process. Atlas, Garvin, & Rich show up to save Murdoch as it was getting too rough. “Nature Boy” Ric Flair vs. Mike Starbuck (5/7/83) Squash. Larry Zbyszko vs. Randy Barber (5/7/83) Squash. Ole & Mike Jackson get into a verbal debate at the desk regarding the National title situation.
