Posted January 25, 200817 yr comment_5427474 Southern Tag Titles: The Fabulous Ones (Steve Keirn & Stan Lane) vs. The Sheepherders (Jonathan Boyd & Rip Morgan) (6/22/85) This was a back-and-forth match until Boyd nailed Keirn with the flagpole on the floor causing him to juice and the tide to turn. The Sheeps start pounding on Keirn who is pretty bloody for TV and they keep working on the cut. Keirn fights back though trying his damdnest to get the tag to Lane but when he does, Calhoun doesn’t see it. Keirn would then hit Morgan with the Hot Shot as Calhoun is busy with Lane so Boyd nails Keirn with a loaded sock and would get the pin to win the titles. Tom Renesto then comes out and strips the Sheeps of the titles because of the way they won the titles. Creatchman then comes out saying that he would defend the Sheeps in court so Renesto returns the titles to the Sheeps. This was a very fun match and I’m throwing it on the block.
January 27, 200817 yr comment_5427553 (Edited 3/23/08) Better copy on Memphis '86 & '85 DVD #1 Better copy on the 1st Gen dub of WMC 6/22/85 that I borrowed from Dan, which is also a non-split copy of the episode unlike the one from Rick. Keirn is really awesome selling the beating here and the loaded sock finish looked nasty as a knockout blow so I have no problem with moving this along. Boyd's interview from the beginning of the show and Lane's interview from later in the show (the beginning of the next disc) (not relevant on the new, better copy from Dan as the show is on 1 disc) should also be included.
March 7, 200817 yr comment_5429088 Boyd is such a vicious bastard. I loved his Portland stuff but he looks meaner here. I wish he was wrestling Portland style with this look. Keirn plays a great FIP and I love how Lane saves him on the outside, picks him up but when he lets go, Steve just collapses. I loved the hell out of this match.
March 7, 200817 yr comment_5429089 If this project causes the internet to embrace Jonathan Boyd, then I will be a very happy man.

July 6, 200817 yr comment_5432687 This was solid stuff. I liked the story of the match with the working over Keirn's cut. I think this would have gotten over huge at the arena. The crowd was almost stunned for the blood. The match made sense and that sock finish was great.
July 12, 200817 yr comment_5432881 I will fifth the Boyd love, but man I am not digging Southern tags where you never get the pay off hot tag, this is better then the R+R's v. Bruise Brothers match with the same problem. I like this less then everyone else, and will probably vote it low, but have no beef with it being on a set
