First show is a Arena dvd.

Phil Hickerson v. Brickhouse Brown 8/29/88

This was fun, but short and bascially to set up a Stud Stable beatdown

Robert Fuller v. Bill Dundee 9/5/88

This was a crazy all around the arena brawl, which had some big bumps. Very short match, but had a cool crazy post match with Stud Stable and Jamie Dundee beatdown.

Jerry Lawler v. Dutch Mantell ?/88

This is for the AWA title and is a long Memphis style singles match. They do the Nightmare + Dick Murdoch punch spot and Lawler may be the only guy in the world with a better payoff punch then Murdoch. Fun double chain finish too. This is the kind of match that will finish high.

TV show after this has a bunch of fun Stud Stable interviews, some short matches including a fun Phil Hickerson v. BJ Travis match which ends with a chain shot, but none of the TV matches are nominations. We obviously need a long Stud Stable extra package.

CWA Heavyweight Title: Phil Hickerson © vs. Brickhouse Brown (8/29/88)

This was really good for what it was with both men looking solid especially with their punches and Hickerson’s DDT to go with Brick’s flying headbutt. Stable would run in for the DQ but the faces would come in for a wild brawl. Very fun stuff.

Next up is a recap of the Dundee/Stud Stable feud.

Robert Fuller vs. “Superstar” Bill Dundee (9/5/88)

This was a wild crazy brawl but only lasted 3 ½ minutes which hurts it although I loved this and the stuff after the match with Jamie. Extra marterial.

AWA World Heavyweight Title: Jerry “The King” Lawler © vs. “Dirty” Dutch Mantell (5/30/88)

Dutch wearing the Buzz Sawyer boots is hilarious to see then doing the Larry Z/Austin Idol stalling spots before the match making Jerry Calhoun check him thoroughly including taking his tights off. Lawler being Sugar Ray Lawler early in the match firing punches and dancing around was great as Dutch was getting pissed off. This would soon turn into another Lawler/Dutch classic with both men brawling both in the ring and on the floor throwing some bombs on each other. The double chain finish was great and a perfect capoff to this match considering the beginning. This wasn’t as good as the 1982 ones maybe but it’s still a definite nomination.

The Stud Stable comes out again in full for a group promo and it’s great stuff. (9/17/88)

Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden vs. Shawn Baxter & Scott Steiner (9/17/88)

This was a fun little match with the faces getting a lot of offense but in the end Scotty gets KOed by the loaded boot. Baxter goes for the boot but gets put in the Fuller Leglock by Golden until the faces clear the ring.

Bill & Jamie Dundee come out to cut a promo on the Stable then Handsome Jimmy cuts a great promo about revenge on the Stable.

Brickhouse Brown, “Superstar” Bill Dundee, & Jeff Jarrett vs. The Blue Knight, Rough & Ready (9/17/88)

Squash.

Cactus Jack & Gary Young vs. Ken Raper & Alan Reynolds (9/17/88)

Squash.

Jarrett & Brick would come out cutting a promo on the Stable.

Phil Hickerson vs. Billy Travis (9/17/88)

Travis comes out blazing at the bell and gets some nearfalls on Hickerson throwing some solid punches but as he goes for a sunset flip, Hickerson nails him with a chain to win the match. Jarrett then gets into it with Hickerson after the match leading to a pull-apart brawl. Fun while it lasted.

2 out of 3 falls: The Rock n Roll RPM’s (Mike Davis & Tommy Lane) vs. Cat Garrett & Ray Odyssey (9/17/88)

Competitive squash. Garrett looks good but is green as grass.
