Posted January 27, 200817 yr comment_5427540 Austin Idol is the first guest on the inaugural Jerry Lawler Show in something that was way ahead of it’s time. It starts off with a great video to “Do You Wanna Touch” by Joan Jett. Idol’s interview was really good and Lawler follows with an interview with Jim Cornette that is hilarious. Then we get stuff with the Fabs & Jimmy Valiant before Lawler interviews a local karate champion. The Fabs are the guests on the next show and it kicks off with their video to Sharp Dressed Man then a pretty funny interview. Ken Patera is the heel interview of the week then we get a funny Q&A with the RnR Express. Lawler spotlights the 1983 Little League World Series champs from Marietta, Georgia before showing highlights from a Idol/Lawler/Valiant vs. A-Team/Patera match from MSC. Then we get bloopers from the promos for the local shows. RnR Express are the guests for the next show and it kicks off with their video for Rock & Roll Is King. The interview was okay. Jimmy Hart is the heel interview of the week and of course this is great. Then we get a video of Lawler’s softball team mainly to pick on Jerry Calhoun. Lawler then interviews a local morning show team. Dutch Mantell is the guest for the next show and is a fun intereview then we get the Bruise Brothers as the heel interview of the week and this is money. Next we get an awesome segment with Valiant talking about if he had his own show and Dave Brown is his first guest then they follow with a Valiant squash of Masa Fuchi from JCP. Lawler then interviews a local boxer from Memphis, shows off his softball trophy, then shows highlights from a Browns/Bengals game. Koko Ware is the guest on the next show and we start with a fucking awesome musical interlude with Koko playing the piano as Dutchman plays guitar. This is definite extra material. The A-Team is the heel interview of the week and after that Lawler shows a video of his manager for the next show at MSC and it’s the San Diego Chicken. Lawler then interviews one of Memphis’ biggest fans. Lance Russell is the guest on the next show and this is simply fantastic as they show old clips including Dr. Frank before it cuts off.
