I enjoyed the hell out of this. The Bombers have a ton of great heel tag team shtick and HOLY SHIT is Bill Dundee great. We all knew this already but he was really incredible here and had a ton of cool offense that I haven't seen before, including a really nasty baseball slide boot to the face in the corner. Boyles is mostly kept out of the way until the end where he semi-blows the collision leading to Dundee getting the hot tag and then blows the finish twice, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the match. The post-match was really long (a few segments) and wild, to the point that it took this from a very good, nomination-worthy match to a slam dunk pick. All 3 heels (Bombers and manager Sgt. Danny Davis) bloody Dundee, Dundee comes back out and demands a singles match with one of the 3 heels, Davis comes out and gets mauled by Dundee, the Bombers come back out to try to kill Dundee again, and then Jerry Jarrett makes the save triggering a big brawl. Great promos in the middle of all this, too.

Will posted this in his Highlights #1 review:

Wayne Ferris & Larry Latham vs. Bill Dundee & Tony Boyles (Memphis)

- Hell, they should have just made this another handicap match. Thankfully, Dundee works the majority of the match but Boyles is not good. Horrible ending as Boyles could not get up for the piledriver and when they did hit the Spike piledriver, it was really awkward. But Damn... Dundee is freaking good. Can one man single-handedly make a tag match worth watching? Low level nomination for discussion sake.

I would guess that the version I just watched is better VQ.

The Blonde Bombers (Wayne Ferris & Larry Latham) vs. Tony Boyles & Bill Dundee (6/7/80)

Dundee was fucking great here and the Bombers was one of the great lost tag teams of all-time. Future Nightmare Danny Davis was their manager and they had their shit together. Boyles was okay in spots and at least he wasn’t in long. The ending was pretty botched but the work was enough here along with the stuff after the match with Jerry Jarrett, Eddie Marlin, and the like to warrant discussion.
