Show #1 (Best guess is taped 9/22/80 at WMC, aired 9/29 Evansville):

No matches of note but there are 2 easy EXTRA picks:

- The TV title battle royal (just need the intro and last few minutes of the match itself), aftermath with Valiant smashing Ware's TV, and Marlin fining Valiant FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS which will go towards buying a new TV for ware.

- The Peggy Rich interview where Valiant and Tojo go after her and Tommy turns face. Overkill, even for Memphis that they ran 2 hot angles with Valiant in the same show, but they're both awesome.

Show #2 (Spring '81):

- Recap of Dream Machine getting tarred & feathered should be an extra, do we have the whole segment from the original airing elsewhere?

- Lance airing the Lawler "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" video, followed by the Dream Machine "Alley Oop" video, leading to Dream attacking Lance, is a definite EXTRA that I think is in better quality here than elsewhere. The other disc that has it also has the local Louisville promo that aired right after where Lance threatens to sue if he's touched again and should be tacked on to this version.

There was one really good match:

Dream Machine/Nightmare #1/Heartbreakers vs Bill Dundee/Steve Keirn/Gibson Bros.

I really hope we're able to get a lot more '80-'81 TV from Cornette because they seemed to have a bunch more of good longer matches at that point than they did later one. This goes about 10 minutes and was a good example of the 8-man workrate expiration of time matches. Non-stop action with a hot studio crowd and a cool ending, worth a nomination.

Who the heck were Joey Cagle & Rocky Sortor, though?

Both of the major angles that Bix mention were fantastic. Valiant was tremendous in both of these. The Rich's momma angle was so super, and put so much sympathy on her.

In the expiration of time 8 man what we got was fun. Dundee just takes a huge back body drop from Dream Machine. Dundee's FIP was top notch. The heels did a good job with the cutting off of the ring and just beating down of Dundee. Rick Gibson showed some flashes of brilliance. So did Keirn. Depending on the size of the set I can see or can't see this match squeezing in.

Overall, a pretty fun DVD.

Bobby Eaton vs. David Price

- Squash

Rick Morton & Ken Lucas vs. Bill Irwin & Danny Davis

- Morton pins Davis after about 5 minutes. Some of this was ok but there were also sloppy moments.

TV Battle Royal (EXTRA)

- I think we can include the whole thing and it won't take up but ten minutes.

Tommy Rich's Mother Interview (Extra)

- At first, this was dragging too long but nobody blades like Tommy Rich.

Bill Dundee & Koko Ware vs. Guy Mitchell & Roger Kirby

- Shit, I was about to write "squash" on this but instead, we get a 9 minute tag match where Koko gets abused and dismantled by these guys I have never heard of. Dundee's offense was pretty hot and the end was pretty good as the heels decapitate Koko with a 2nd rope knee drop. I am going to nominate this because I think it should at least be in the discussion. One, for Dundee and Ware bumping and selling big. Two, for giving me an unexpected result.

Arena Clips

Dream Machine & Jimmy Hart Interview

Tojo Yamamoto vs. Roy Rogers

- Tojo wins after a chop to the throat.

Lawler is presented a Title Belt/ Jerry Lawler "My Way" Music Video (Extra)

Jerry Lawler Interview (w/ Arena Clips & Dream Machine Tarred and Feathered) (EXTRA)

Dutch Mantel vs. Tojo Yamamoto

- Fuchi & Onita interfere and that draws out Bill Dundee.

Jerry Lawler "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" Music Video (EXTRA)

Dream Machine "Alley Oop" Music Video (Extra)

Dream Machine attacks Lance Russell (EXTRA)

Dream Machine, Nightmare #1 & The Heartbreakers vs. Bill Dundee, Steve Keirn, Ricky & Robert Gibson

- I can absolutely see this making the set. I think the difference between these early matches such as this and the Mitchell/Kirby tag and the latter matches is that we get clean results. Hell, even the Freebirds-Lawler/Dundee match went half an hour before running out of TV time. Something like this reminds me of those big 8-man or 10-man RAW main events where everyone gets to hit their spots, they keep the crowd into it and you get a clean ending.

- Overall a great disc!!!

Bill Dundee & Koko Ware vs. Guy Mitchell & Roger Kirby

This was fine, but it never got that special moment to elevate it into disc level match. I am a big Roger Kirby fan, he is one of my real discoveries on this set, but we have better Kirby and certainly better Ware and Dundee

I am not sold on the TV angle as an extra, if we are pressed for time I would rather see some Stud Stable stuff, this just felt like any other face wins an award angle. Both the Peggy Rich and Alley Oop angles make it for sure

Dream Machine, Nightmare #1 & The Heartbreakers vs. Bill Dundee, Steve Keirn, Ricky & Robert Gibson

Man alive was Dundee on fire here, he was just moving a million miles an hour through this whole thing, I also loved all the cheap shots Dream Machine kept taking. This feels like it should make it for sure

The TV angle must go on as an extra because it sets up the Peggy Rich angle since Handsome was out of control. Both angles are definite extras.

Roger Kirby & Guy Mitchell (aka Jerry Valiant) vs. “Superstar” Bill Dundee & Koko Ware (11/22/80)

Dundee & Koko were good here taking punishment and Dundee at giving out the punishment but I wasn’t too hot on Kirby & Mitchell here as they were fine but nothing special. I’m going to go no on a nomination.

All the Lawler videos and Dream Machine angles are definite extras on the next show.

“Superstar” Bill Dundee, Ricky & Robert Gibson, & Steve Keirn vs. Dream Machine, The Heartbreakers (Joey Cagle & Rocky Sortor), & The Nightmare (Danny Davis) (8/22/81)

This was a great all-action match with everyone getting their chance to shine and Dundee as the overall MVP. This is a fairly easy nomination.
