New Generation (Mark Batten & Johnny Wilhoit) vs. Angelo & “Leaping” Lanny Poffo (9/17/84)

This is JIP from the MSC and it’s odd to see Angelo wrestling and the New Generation gets the big win.

“Wildfire” Tommy Rich & Tojo Yamamoto vs. The Dirty White Boys (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) (9/17/84)

DWB’s brutalize Rich early in and out of the ring but Rich fights back and gets the hot tag to Tojo where it would end up being a 4-way brawl but the match would soon end as Hot Stuff jumps in for the DQ with a rope. New Generation then runs in to make the save.

No DQ Masks vs. Loser Leaves Town: The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) vs. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (9/17/84)

Nightmares take some great bumps from the ring to the floor early in the match and Morton bashes both heels’ heads into the ringside table. RnR are really roughing it up here for them as they just take it to the Nightmares with Morton even breaking out a piledriver but Gibson suffers an arm injury that would hamper him. Nightmares would take advantage of a weakened Gibson by choking him with a chain for a while but he would fight to make the hot tag to Morton. Morton would hit a 180 splash off the middle rope and clashed heads with a Nightmare causing a switch where the other one rolls on Morton and gets the pin. This was a fun match but a borderline nomination at best.

International Heavyweight Title: “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert © vs. “Dirty” Dutch Mantell (9/17/84)

This is JIP at the 5:00 mark. This had some good action as Dutch worked some wrestling holds but Gilbert starts fighting back with punches before hitting a nice backdrop suplex followed up by slamming Dutch’s leg against the ringpost. Gilbert is relentless working on Dutch’s left leg using a chair and the security rope before bringing it back in the ring where he goes for the figure-four leglock but Dutch would soon grab the ropes. Gilbert would try a diving kneedrop off the middle rope on Dutch’s leg but Dutch would roll out of way before making his comeback using some great punches while limping around sending Gilbert over the top rope. Dutch bashes Gilbert’s head into the table a couple of times before taking the punishment back to the ring where he would also hit Hart. Gilbert though would catch Dutch coming in and took his legs out from under him using the ropes as leverage to get the pinfall. Dutch would whine about the finish and Paul Morton would restart the match. Dutch would quickly catch Gilbert in an O’Connor Roll to win the match and the title. Gilbert jumped Dutch after the match and spiked him with a DDT then started pounding him with the belt before Tommy Rich would make the save. Even though this was JIP we still get the last 10 minutes so I’m nominating this. Very fun match.

No DQ: King Kong Bundy & “Ravishing” Rick Rude vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler & “Macho Man” Randy Savage (9/17/84)

This is the rematch from a week earlier that I nommed from Wrestling Gold and this was just as good if not better but shorter. This was nothing but a wild brawl with Savage acting like a maniac using everything around to punish the heels. Rude juices as the crowd is really into this wanting to see the heels get destroyed. The table spots were awesome and when Lawler drops the strap the shit hits the fan as he uses a chain to start pounding everyone. Lawler then nukes Rude with a piledriver but Bundy drops the Avalanche on Jerry Calhoun as he makes the count. Savage goes after Bundy as the war continues with Paul Morton coming in the ring to count out Bundy but Jimmy Hart stops him. Savage hits a backdrop suplex hold on Rude as Calhoun makes the count sees Savage’s shoulders down and counts him out giving Bundy & Rude the win. This was fucking awesome and a definite nomination.

Prett JIP and nothing special, I enjoyed Angelo though

“Wildfire” Tommy Rich & Tojo Yamamoto vs. The Dirty White Boys (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) (9/17/84)

Fine but nothing remarkable

No DQ Masks vs. Loser Leaves Town: The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) vs. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (9/17/84)

Nightmares bumping was a big highlight, but I thought this needed a hotter finish for the stips, I am going with a no vote here.

International Heavyweight Title: “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert © vs. “Dirty” Dutch Mantell (9/17/84)

We get enough of this to warrent a nomination, Gilbert is great viciously going after Mantell's leg, and Dutch was awesome as a fired up babyface coming back. I really love the way Gilbert takes bumps. Kind of a horseshit finish, but a really fun match

No DQ: King Kong Bundy & “Ravishing” Rick Rude vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler & “Macho Man” Randy Savage (9/17/84)

I could see this finishing in my top ten, when all is said and done. Just an all out crazy brawl, with Savage flying all over the ring. I loved Bundy standing on the table and crushing Lawler. Without a doubt a disc level match
