Jack and Jerry Brisco v. Bob Orton Jr. & Jimmy Valiant (6/12/83) (Savannah, GA)

- I don’t know if this match will go far but I have really grown to appreciate Bob Orton. He has some nice-looking offense but he is also a bumping machine. His reactions or movements after a generic Brisco move make this match more appealing than it should be. It also helps that Orton works the majority of the match while Valiant provides color and a chance for the crowd to get excited when he gets involved. The ending was anti-climactic with a tag team bodyslam getting the clean pin but the match was interesting enough to move forward.

NWA World Tag Titles: Jack & Jerry Brisco © vs. Bob Orton Jr. & "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant (6/12/83)

This is a brawl at the bell as the faces work over the Briscos in the ring and on the floor with Valiant using chairs on Jack then throwing them in the ring as Baba calls Valiant crazy on commentary. Jerry takes punishment early on from the faces especially Orton who uses a nice backbreaker then a cravate being fluid in everything he did. Bob would soon get doubled up in the corner and the Briscos went on the assault with Orton being really good as the FIP and Valiant being great working the corner trying to brawl with Jack on the floor getting more heat as Orton got worked over. Jack would eventually get the figure-four on Orton as the fans in Savannah were going nuts wanting Bob to get the tag. Bob would instead get a reversal keeping it on for a bit until Jerry jumped off the top rope on him. Bob fought and fought through the pain of being worked over vigorously before making the tag to Valiant while he was outside on the apron which wasn't a legal tag. Valiant proceeds to go nuts on the Briscos before getting a sleeper on Jerry then Jack with Tommy Young saying fuck it Valiant is legal. The numbers game would catch up to Jimmy though as the Briscos got him but Jimmy kept fighting back until he got the tag to Orton who was refreshed and went to work on the Briscos getting an inside cradle on Jack for a nearfall which brought in Jimmy & Jerry that allowed the Briscos to double up on Orton with a bodyslam and Jack covering for the win. This had the psychology I've been looking for all day and was very fun with everyone being solid in their roles. This moves forward.

We start out with a brawl to start. It settles down and we get a normal tag with the Briscos working over Orton double time. The heat they get on Orton is sick. Eventually Valiant gets the hot tag and runs wild. Then he gets cut off and is worked over till he makes a hot tag to Orton. The finish was a little flat. I'll go no. Even if this goes on the viewers will crap all over that finish.
