This gets a little too chinlock-happy at times but I enjoyed this much more than the Flair hour match and the Bock match from Episode 91. In the end, this even turns into one of those wild, Brody brawls with both guys busted open for good measure. Good, solid nomination. (AJC 88)
April 9, 201015 yr comment_5449243 Brody really let Jumbo become the aggressor here and it worked well for the match. They started methodically, but the chinlocks never took over the match. The finishing run after Jumbo started bleeding was hot. He really wanted to punish Brody, it seemed, and nailed impact move after impact move. Brody ended up bleeding even more than Jumbo and did a nice job bumping for him. No clean finish, but angry Jumbo definitely had Brody on the ropes, and it was fun to see. Yes vote for me.
August 29, 201015 yr comment_5455137 NWA International Heavyweight Title: Bruiser Brody © vs. Jumbo Tsuruta (5/26/83) Jumbo gets to shine a little to start the match as Brody gives him some offense and they have some good back and forth action although there are moments that drag a little. They both throw some good hard strikes to each other before it would go to the floor where Brody would start swinging a chair over Jumbo's head then posted him which would bring out the juice. Brody then set up a table for Jumbo's head but Jumbo reversed and threw him into it with Brody juicing good and Jumbo firing up going to work on the cut. Jumbo would hit a nice delayed piledriver for a nearfall before planting him hard with a backdrop suplex but Brody would roll to the floor to recover. Jumbo going all out decides to break out the Octopus hold but Brody falls in the ropes to get free and at this time Wild Bill Irwin shows up at ringside to root Brody on. Jumbo would go back to the Octopus hold then got a hold of Brody's chain which brought in Irwin forcing Joe Higuchi to call for the bell as he lost total control of the match. Baba then jumped Irwin to send him running with Brody not far behind. Shitty finish but a damn solid match and this moves forward easily.
