This was a real fun show. Their was a show long angle with Lawler and Hickerson in regards to the Freebirds. Most of the matches on the show were squashes; but their were some fun stuff here.

 

 

They recap the Birds vs. Lawler/Idol feud. They show highlights of a Badstreet match between Hayes/Gordy vs. Lawler/Idol. This looked like a lot of fun. This is followed up by a decent Freebirds promo. This is followed up by a promo where Lawler vows that him and Idol would get the Birds, and threatens them with fire. Lawler comes back out and informs the crowd of Idol's injury from Florida and teases Valiant or Dundee as his partner. Lawler comes out again with the news that neither will or can't be his partner. This leads to Hickerson pleading with Lawler to be his partrner. Lawler turns him down flat.

 

The Sheepherders come out and Boyd cuts a great promo. He is so underated as a promo guy. The Sheepherders came out to a ton of heat.

 

In an expiration of time match we have Sexton/Mr.class vs. Smothers/Wright this was a lot of fun. Their was a brawl at the end. Lawler makes a save, and Hickerson comes out to help Lawler. This was good stuff.

 

In the final segment we have Lawler tell Hickerson he can be his partner on 2 conditions. First, he must let Eddie Marlin hold onto his title belt. Secondly he must put up $5,000 to guarantee he won't turn on Lawler. Hickerson agrees.

 

This was just a great show long angle done to perfection. This how you do the not trusting partner thing.
