(3/26/88) Doug & Tommy Gilbert vs. Doug Dancing & Alan Reynolds (3/26/88) Squash. Steve Keirn vs. Jesse Owens (3/26/88) Squash. Lawler sends in a phone interview talking about his feud with the Gilberts so of course that brings out Hot Stuff who hangs up the phone but when Gilbert threatens Lance, Lawler shows up and destroys Gilbert brawling all over the studio and outside into the parking lot on top of cars and everything. This was awesome and a definite extra. Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner, & Billy Travis vs. The Assassin, Jonathan Quinn, & Tommy Punk (3/26/88) Scott wins in 48 seconds in his debut. No DQ: “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler (3/28/88) This is JIP from MSC and Gilbert tries to cut and run as often as he can to stay away from Lawler but it doesn’t work as Lawler just throws punches in bunches on Gilbert sending him to the floor. Gilbert would get the advantage by breaking off the tag rope from the corner and uses it to choke Lawler then ties Lawler up in the corner by the neck so he can pound on him. Lawler gets loose though and starts working on Gilbert before dropping the strap and unloading on Gilbert. Lawler goes for a piledriver and stuffs him in the mat but misses his diving fistdrop off the middle rope. Gilbert signals to Missy on the floor and she goes to take off her shoe but Jerry Bryant takes it from her and Lawler throws a mega fireball in Gilbert’s face. Doug & Tommy come out taking Eddie to the back as he gets counted out. This was great stuff but the quality isn’t hot, a nomination though nonetheless. Tom Brandi vs. Keith Eric (4/2/88) Funny to see Brandi here. They show highlights of the previous Lawler/Gilbert match and King cuts a promo. Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. Tommy Punk (4/2/88) Squash. Eddie Marlin returns to TV and Doug Gilbert comes out blaming him for his brother getting burned then Tommy jumps Eddie hitting him with his boot. Jeff Jarrett makes the save but Gary Young attacks him but Billy Travis evens the odds. The Mighty Yankees vs. Doug Dancing & Alan Reynolds (4/2/88) Squash. Yankees are Bob Cook and I forget the other guy. The Bruise Brothers (Don & Ron Harris) & Scott Steiner vs. Brickhouse Brown, Max Pain, & Gary Young (4/2/88) Okay match that goes to a TV draw. Cowboy Boot Match: Eddie Marlin vs. Tommy Gilbert (4/4/88) This is nothing but a fight with both men going for each other’s boots and using them. These two old guys just pound on each other in a slow manner but still it’s a bloody fight nonetheless. Eddie wins by getting both cowboy boots off of Tommy but Gilbert would throw powder in his eyes after the match on the floor and slamming him on the steel barricade then the floor. Gilbert puts a boot back on and stomps him in the back off the top rope. Jarrett & Travis come out to make the save. This was a lot of fun and what the hell I’m throwing it on the block. Next we get “Quiet Time with Brother Ernest Angel” and this was tremendous. Doug & Tommy Gilbert vs. Rikki Nelson & Scott Steiner (4/16/88) Squash. Lawler comes out to talk about his match with Curt Hennig on 5/9 and how the fans will pick the referee. Max Pain vs. Rodney Napper (4/16/88) Squash. SR – Max Pain: Brother Ernest Angel vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler (4/18/88) This is hilarious as Angel is just a joke and Pain of course takes it to Lawler then DQ’s him for hitting him.
