Posted February 15, 200817 yr comment_5428129 Cowboy Boot Match: Eddie Marlin vs. Tommy Gilbert (4/4/88) This is nothing but a fight with both men going for each other’s boots and using them. These two old guys just pound on each other in a slow manner but still it’s a bloody fight nonetheless. Eddie wins by getting both cowboy boots off of Tommy but Gilbert would throw powder in his eyes after the match on the floor and slamming him on the steel barricade then the floor. Gilbert puts a boot back on and stomps him in the back off the top rope. Jarrett & Travis come out to make the save. This was a lot of fun and what the hell I’m throwing it on the block.

I could see this sneaking into my top 20 and this needs to make the set. Fuck that top rope cowboy stomp by Tommy looked brutal. Bix found us a VQ upgrade so that wasn't an issue
August 1, 200817 yr comment_5433497 I am more with shoe than Phil here. I enjoyed the Fargo match better than this. I think if this was just a good old No DQ match, these guys could have put on a better match. Seriously, I think the stip killed a lot of spots where they could have been beating the fuck out of each other.
August 9, 200817 yr comment_5433849 Tom K told me the other night that this is basically a tuxedo match, so with those standards, this is the best tuxedo match in existence. I was still annoyed with the brawling being broken up with the quick stoppage to grab a boot. On the other hand, I have no problem with this being on the set.
