This is held in a cage, and the guys do a great job of getting the cage over. I didn't think this was incredible, but got the cage was part of the story that was being told. I liked how both Garvin and Savage battled for position on the mat in the beginning stages. I dug the strong bumps that Savage took into the cage. Both of the wrestlers bled to get the brutality of the cage as a weapon over. At one point Savage was going for a piledriver, and Garvin just went dead and sprawled to avoid it. That was a neat spot. Another neat spot was Garvin backdropped Savage into the cage hard. Garvin got the belt from the ref and went to town on Savage. Savage would get the belt and return the favor to Garvin. I thought the finish was abrupt, but neat as hell. Savage is prone on the mat, Garvin in perched on the top rope about to hit some high impact move on Savage(earlier he hit a top rope knee drop). Savage throws the belt at Garvin, and Garvin loses his footing and crotches himself. Savage grabs him while he is bent over and gives him a piledriver. I am going to throw this on the block for how the wrestlers worked the cage match. It was high impact stuff with blood and hate.

I am going to edit the title of this thread since I did not know you had nominated it already. I also think the Warlords tape will be better VQ.

Randy Savage vs. Ron Garvin (Cage Match) (ICW 6/84)

- What the hell are they doing mat wrestling in a cage??? Ron makes it up by stomping the hell out of Randy's chest. Garvin uses his offense to control the first few minutes or so, never really elying on the cage but not able to do any real damage either. However, when Savage makes his comeback, he does it by using the cage as a weapon. This had blood, great punches, smart use of the cage and a SWEET finish. Garvin goes to the top rope but Savage crotches him on the turnbuckle. Garvin slumps over so Savage gets him and piledrives him while garvin was sitting on the turnbuckle. After the match, Pez Watley attacks Savage but Poffo makes the save while also doing the commentary. This is a nomination.

Steel Cage Match for the ICW Heavyweight Title – SR: George Weingroff: “Macho Man” Randy Savage © vs. Ronnie Garvin (sometime in 1982 or early 1983)

This starts out slow but Garvin would soon start working on Savage and would be the first to use the cage by ramming Savage’s head into it a few times causing him to juice. Garvin continues to pound on Savage using his offensive repetoire to weaken Savage. Savage would start his comeback by throwing Garvin into the cage numerous times causing him to juice as well before starting to unload punches on him. Garvin would come back though and they would start beating the crap out of each other but Savage would miss with his elbow drop off the top rope giving Garvin the chance to capitalize which is what he did as he started back working Savage over and would climb up himself to the top rope where he would land a diving kneedrop but Savage would kick out of the pin. Throughout the match both men would try for the piledriver especially Garvin but each man would fight of it. Garvin would throw Savage into referee George Weingroff then took off his belt where he would use it to punch Savage in the face with then tied him to the top rope by the neck but Savage would get out. Savage then made his comeback but would end up getting backdropped into the cage in a cool spot at that time. Garvin then climbed back up top where he would get crotched and slumped forward so Savage could lock him up in a piledriver for the win in a very cool spot. King Pez Whatley would then attack Savage after the match but brother Lanny Poffo made the save.
