“Exotic” Adrian Street & “Superstar” Bill Dundee vs. The Hollywood Blondes (1/21/89)

Jesus what a fucking team and these Blondes are jobbers. Beauty & The Beast attack Dundee & Street after the match then Miss Linda gets involved going after Bruno.

“Dirty” Dutch Mantell & Ricky Morton vs. Brian Lee & Scott Smith (1/21/89)

Fun seeing Morton as a heel here with a heel beard and there is good teamwork here between him & Dutch. Lee looks good when he is in the ring.

Tracy Smothers vs. PY Chu-Hi (Phil Hickerson) (1/21/89)

PY has Samurai & Shogun along with Tojo Yamamoto with him at ringside and this was a great angle. They would all attack Smothers for the DQ.

CWA strips Dutch Mantell of the heavyweight title and Ricky Morton gets fined $5,000 for their actions against Jerry Lawler for the last two weeks. The immortal Guy Coffey comes to collect so Dutch breaks his glasses then shoves Lance around before the calvary comes out. Great stuff.

“Wildcat” Wendell Cooley & Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. Beauty & The Beast (Terrence Garvin & Mark Guleen) (1/21/89)

This starts out with all 4 men brawling and Dutch/Morton soon join them for the DQ.

“Exotic” Adrian Street & “Superstar” Bill Dundee vs. David Elder & Al Yates (1/28/89)

JIP squash.

Jeff Jarrett comes out to confront Dutch Mantell and brings out a tape proving that Dutch cheated to beat Wendell Cooley for the CWA title. Dutch breaks the tape and gets slapped right across the face for it so Dutch demands a title match with Jeff.

Ricky Morton vs. Brian Lee (1/28/89)

Lawler comes out to counter Dutch at ringside and tells the story on commentary about how he created the Rock n Roll Express and how Morton’s ego killed their team. Morton gets the win fairly easily.

Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. Keith Eric (1/28/89)

Squash. Morton comes out to retort Lawler so after the match Lawler demands to call Robert Gibson. They bring a phone out but Morton steals the receiver.

CWA Heavyweight Title: “Dirty” Dutch Mantell © vs. Jeff Jarrett (1/28/89)

Jeff starts this off by being too quick for Dutch keeping the advantage but Dutch would use his experience to get a cheapshot in on Jeff to regain the advantage. Dutch would post Jeff on the floor then threw him into the steel chair before bringing him back to the ring for a vicious short clothesline. Jeff would start fighting back eventually using some nice punches but Jerry Calhoun would hold him back thus letting Dutch clothesline them both. Jeff would get an inside cradle but there was no ref so Dutch grabbed Shoebaby and started whipping Jeff’s legs then sold pain as Calhoun got up and Jeff was on the floor. Jeff would hit a sunset flip off the apron as Dutch grabbed the ropes but Calhoun kicked his hands off for a nearfall. Dutch went for Shoebaby as Jeff went for a chair and nailed Dutch with it for the DQ. Damn solid match with a screwjob finish but the finish made sense so I’m nominating this.

Tracy Smothers & Scott Steiner vs. Jimmy Golden & Frankie “The Thumper” Lancaster (1/28/89)

Lawler comes out on commentary and buries the AWA & Verne Gagne for how he promotes matches and his treatment of the title. Lawler then says that every champion other than him is a company champion not the world champion which is what he is. Meanwhile the match ends in a DQ.

Next we get a video on Bill Dundee.

Scott Steiner vs. Frankie “The Thumper” Lancaster (2/4/89)

Scotty looks good here before Robert Fuller runs in for the DQ then gets chased off by Brian Lee & Adrian Street.

PY Chu-Hi (Phil Hickerson) vs. Brian Lee (2/4/89)

Okay match that sees PY use a chain on Lee to get the win. Hickerson is so great here.

Master of Pain (The Undertaker) vs. Rodney Napper (2/4/89)

What a debut by the future phenom as he is green as grass.

Battle Royal that comes down to Samurai & Tracy Smothers and Samurai gets the win. Samurai is also known as Shinya Hashimoto. The Japanese beat up Smothers after the match and Samurai hits a DDT on Smothers through the announce table. PY Chu-Hi then hits a spike piledriver on the floor before the faces make the save. This is definite extra material. (2/4/89)

Next we get a Jerry Lawler video to Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi.

“Superstar” Bill Dundee introduces his new partner in Jed Grundy (2/11/89)

“Superstar” Bill Dundee & Jed Grundy vs. Rough & Ready (2/11/89)

Squash.

They show highlights of Fuller/Golden vs. Jarrett/Kerry Von Erich from MSC on 2/7/89.
