“Dirty” Dutch Mantell vs. Brian Lee (2/11/89)

Fun little match with Dutch winning by grabbing the ropes as Lee used a sunset flip.

Master of Pain (The Undertaker) vs. David Johnson (2/11/89)

Nice skinhead look on Taker here. Dutch demands Lawler come out to face MOP and he does leading to.

Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. Master of Pain (2/11/89)

There is picture problems here. MOP just pounds on Lawler before Dutch comes in the ring and pulls him out for the DQ as he was out to prove a point.

The Dream Weaver (Del Wilkes) makes his debut and yes he does use the Gary Wright song. (2/11/89)

PY Chu-Hi (Phil Hickerson) vs. The Dream Weaver (Del Wilkes) (2/11/89)

Tojo chokes Dream at will until Jed Grundy shows up to distract PY. Tojo then comes in the ring with the kendo stick but Dream scares him and puts him in a sleeper hold thus getting PY DQed as Grundy trips PY.

Samurai (Shinya Hashimoto) & Shogun (Shinji Sasazaki) vs. Jungle Jim McPherson & Alan Reynolds (2/11/89)

Squash and Lance praises Hashimoto on commentary.

They show Kerry presenting Jeff Jarrett with the jacket that he wore when he beat Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight Title at MSC on 2/13/89. Jarrett then wears it to the ring for his match against Dutch and Dutch gives him shit for wearing a dead man’s coat. The Stud Stable then attacks Jeff and rips up the jacket. Dutch then cuts a promo live about being scared of dead people that would bring out Jeff who brawls with him. Definite extra material. (2/18/89)

Master of Pain (Undertaker) vs. Freezer Thompson (2/18/89)

Squash.

Jeff gets attacked by various masked men trying to collect on Dutch Mantell’s bounty but Jeff cleans house until Dutch breaks a board over Jeff’s head. Jeff is juicing as Master of Pain attacks him and the jobbers that tried to help him before Dream Weaver leads the cavalry.

CWA Tag Titles: Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden © vs. Jed Grundy & Scott Steiner (2/18/89)

Fuller takes a swig of Jed’s moonshine as a kind gesture and he runs out of the ring to clear his throat. The early part of the match is the Studs taking Jed’s comedy offense and even the multi-man train. Studs cheat to get the advantage and Sylvia used the kendo stick on Scotty as he was on the floor. Steiner would get Fuller in an O’Connor Roll as the referee was distracted and Sylvia threw powder in his eyes leading to Fuller getting the pin to retain their titles. The referee then saw the powder and decided to restart the match so the Studs start back working on Scott but Jed would hit Golden with the jug leading to him getting pinned and new champs. The face locker room clears to celebrate as the Studs whine to Lance & Eddie Marlin. Studs then go after the chicken but Jed & Scotty run them off and Jed strips Sylvia making him very excited. This was fun stuff and I cosign Phil’s nom.

Dream Weaver (Del Wilkes) & Jungle Jim McPherson vs. Keith Eric & PY Chu-Hi (Phil Hickerson) (2/18/89)

Dream puts Eric to sleep for the win.

Eddie Marlin asks Jeff Jarrett what his toughest match was and it was him as a referee getting his ass kicked by Dundee & Landell so they booked a match for Jeff against Landell.

CWA Tag Titles: Jed Grundy & Scott Steiner © vs. Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden (2/25/89)

Well the reign didn’t last long as Fuller would whack Steiner with the kendo stick as Jerry Calhoun was stuck with Jed and Golden got the cover for the win.

Eddie Marlin then visits Robert Fuller on his property as he holds a shotgun and asks Robert what his toughest match was and he said it was against his brother Ron. Robert comes out whining about the possible match but says that he would beat his brother. Lance gets Ron on the phone and Robert comes out to talk to him saying that he better hope his plane crashes before their match then hangs up on him.

The Mason-Dixon Connection (John Paul & Tracy Smothers) vs. The Blue Knight & Ready (2/25/89)

Squash.

Ricky Morton talks about his toughest match and brings up Phil Hickerson wanting a match and they get into it at the desk.

Marlin then asks Bill Dundee and he says his toughest match was against Dutch Mantell in a no rope bullwhip match.

“Superstar” Bill Dundee vs. Frankie “The Thumper” Lancaster (2/25/89)

Dundee looks good until Dutch runs in for the DQ. Lancaster gets pissed at Dutch for costing him the match and shoves him a couple of times.

Marlin then comes out and says that his toughest match was against Tommy Gilbert so that match was made as well.

“Dirty” Dutch Mantell & Master of Pain (The Undertaker) vs. Brian Lee & Jungle Jim McPherson (2/25/89)

Squash.
