It's a little weird to see Mark in regular gear and Jay as the war-painted Injun when I'm used to them in the other's role. The show went off the air with the match in progress, but for whatever reason it's complete (5 more minutes of action) on one of those weird '80s comm. tapes. Super match w/ an insanely hot crowd. The Youngbloods are great fired up babyfaces and the heels are both awesome tag wrestlers, great at cutting off the babyfaces. Easy nomination.

I've seen the "weird commercial tape" this was on and holy shit, even from a memory of 20 years back, I recall this crowd being one of the hottest crowds I've ever heard. Made this an even more incredible match.
July 17, 201312 yr comment_5552408 No DQ Match for the NWA World Tag Titles: Don Kernodle & "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff © vs. Renegade (Jay Youngblood) & Mark Youngblood (8/22/84) Crowd is volcanic for the Youngbloods here. The Renegade deal was Jay was having serious drug problems at the time and he had gained some weight as well. Really fun shine section to start as the faces work over the champs who are so good at playing defense. The champs would get the advantage though and worked over Renegade fiercely. Kernodle & Ivan were a really good shortlived team and had good chemistry. Renegade's hope spots were pretty damn fun and this crowd was eating everything up begging for him to tag his brother. Mark gets the hot tag and he runs wild sending the heels reeling before his brother joins in on the fun. Mark hits the big running chop on Kernodle for a nearfall then gets a nearfall on Ivan before getting a sleeper on Ivan which sees Nikita show up allowing Kernodle to hit a clothesline off the top rope to the back of Mark's head allowing Ivan to pin him. This was no DQ so it was all legal. Helluva match here and an easy nomination.
July 18, 201312 yr comment_5552525 This is some great stuff. The heels were so awesome in their nuances from cutting off the face. Giving him hope spots. Distracting the ref, distracting the partner, stooging. They were awesome in their role. For a bloated up druggie Renegade was great in this match with his offense, and his FIP role. This is a high end nomination.
