Posted February 23, 200817 yr comment_5428473 Giant Baba vs. Stan Hansen (PWF Title, 2/4/82) - The crowd is HOT for this one. I am guessing this is the first match for Hansen after his debut. Hansen is great selling for Baba in this and the crowd responds to every strike and every move. Bab did his homework though and works over Hansen’s arm. Hansen counters by keeping Baba grounded. The end was pretty great as Baba takes a Hansen lariat and plops to the outside. They brawl for a few minutes but Hansen worked the crowd into a frenzy. I am nominating this one more for the environment than anything although there were some nice sequences. (AJC 67)

It only goes about 12 minutes, but both guys are on fire in this. Baba spends a good amount of time working over Hansen's lariat arm and Hansen sells it really nicely. The camera does a great job of capturing Baba's HUGE boot stomping the shit out of Hansen's arm. This is just constantly awesome, though. Just a really fun, stiff fight. The crowd is going bonkers the whole time, so loud. HEAVY RECOMMENDATION. (AJC Retro #1)

April 5, 201015 yr comment_5449024 Perfect debut match for Hansen. Baba came out throwing bombs and I loved his focus on the lariat arm throughout the match. Hansen ate and sold his offense better than anyone, and their toe-to-toe exchanges came off as titanic stuff. The crowd was fantastic. They didn't resolve anything but left the folks wanting more. This is an easy yes.
June 30, 201015 yr comment_5452589 PWF Heavyweight Title: Giant Baba © vs. Stan "The Lariat" Hansen (2/4/82) This is the first big singles match for Hansen as he ends his first tour with All-Japan and he wears blue tights here which was different and had Umanoseke Ueda in a wild outfit as his second. I agree with everyone else here as this had great action and a great crowd with both men being great in their roles and setting up the feud nicely. This is an easy nomination.
