What's their policy on lost tapes?

I hate to think. They stung me with late fees once.

The good news is that I was able to make a DVD recording. The bad news is that I forgot to finalise the disc. I'll do it on Monday.

I won't be excited until I can play it on my computer. I tried Nero and all sorts of shit to try and finalise it on my PC but this sucker won't budge. If worst comes to worse, I can always record it again.

Did you do it in the best quality mode for the tape length? If the tape's an hour or less, please do it in that mode

 

Also, have you come across anything else that's not really circulating in the west? The PWC show w/ Santo is floating around now (Phil got it from I forgot who) but the quality could be better and it's a bad NTSC to PAL conversion, so a better copy would be awesome.

That would require a whole bunch of fiddling around with a Japanese remote control. If I get a DVD recorder of my own, I'll try making the best copy possible. My main concern were the chapter breaks. Champion keep their tapes in excellent condition, so the picture looked fine on playback but I'll have to wait and see until I get it up and running at home.

 

As for their other stuff, the only really relevant stuff for this project is maybe some Puerto Rico tapes and better quality versions of 80s JWP stuff like Kandori vs. Devil Masami, which they have the commercial tape of. What's PWC? An indy?

PWC = Pro Wrestling Crusaders, Takano Bros. indy I think.

I'm pretty sure all of their commercial tapes are widely available. It's just having all of them in one place that's a trip.

Well, most of the Lucha tapes weren't available until recently when Jose got ahold of them and now you have the missing one, the PWC only just showed up, it took years for Tabe to find UWFI 9/5/93 in any form, the '90s Baba anime wasn't floating around until I got it from Yahoo Japan auctions via Katsumi...it makes me think there's more stuff that isn't available through the usual suspects.

I can have a look for you, but I need a list of tapes. I really have no idea what's rare and what's not. I was able to finalise the DVD today.

When I returned the tape, I found Viva Lucha Libre Part I and an 80s Villano III tape. I dunno what's on them, but I'll rent them and find out.

Viva Lucha Libre Part 1 ended up being the Guerreros vs. Sangre Chicana/Gran Markus/Gran Markus Jr. trios and the Mogur/As Charo mask match, so I didn't bother renting it. The Villano tape is the 12/84 match against Perro Aguayo.
