All Japan Women's Classics 9 + 10

Classics 9

Yumi Ogura vs. Kanako Nagatomo (6/14/85)

- Not as good as the match on Vol. 7.

Dump Matsumoto vs. Chigusa Nagayo (Hair vs. Hair) (8/28/85)

- Another Dump ass-beating. This one was particularly vicious with her liberal use of the chain, flinging Nagoya around. Still, I love how Nagayo never gives up and always looks for a way to get the pin. She knows she isn’t going to beat the army or even punish Dump but it would be sweet revenge to get her hair. While I usually don’t think the interference and weapons are necessary, I do think that the use of the scissors was great. If I can’t cut your hair with these, then I will stab you until you bleed. Then, she goes over the top and channels Magnum TA hitting Tully Blanchard with the microphone. I don’t understand how Dump won without pinning her but maybe someone can explain that to me. You almost have to include this to see the fans go berserk at the end during the hair cutting. The match was petty wild with a shitty ending but the post-match was insane.

Classics 10

UWA Champion Jaguar Yokota vs. La Galactica (1/5/85)

- Compared to the brawling I have seen today, it wasn’t that exciting. There wasn’t any real wrestling strategy used either that made it stand out. I will say I really admire Galactica’s commitment to being a complete heel the entire match. Any opportunity to cheat or get a cheap shot, she takes it. She busts Jaguar open later on in the match and goes after the cut. I also think the match should have ended after the top rope powerslam but Jaguar holds on and gets the pin after a German. If someone else nominates this, I won’t fight it but I don’t think it did anything that stood out in anyway except for Galactica’s heel work. Even that pales when you are comparing her to Dump.

UWA Champion Jaguar Yokota vs. La Galactica (2/27/85)

- What the hell is with these girls and their nunchuks? One thing I really like about this match that I did not see in the first match is Jaguar’s nastiness. She isn’t playing the victim early on and is going after Galactica with gusto. She tries to tear her mask off and attacks her on the outside. It wouldn’t last the whole match because Galactica is still a cheating bastard. Watch her bite Jaguar’s fingers while her knee has Jaguar’s arm pinned to her back. Sweet! I can also appreciate that every time the action spills outside, Galactica gets the advantage. This is a strong reminder that Jaguar should keep it in the ring. Jaguar also bleeds in this match but this time her arm is busted open and it becomes the focus of the match. The end run is as hot as the first match with nods to the finish of the last one. A Jaguar win by countout brings it down a little but I think this should go through.
