A pair of fun episode, the show opens with Dutch Mantel driving Texas Dirt back to Texas, this was hillarious and should be an extra. Some fun TV matches with the Blackbirds and Dustin and Dundee, Birds introduce Reggie B. Fine who would go on to be a Mempho legend too. Match I am nominating

 

Buddy Landell v. Jerry Lawler

 

This was only 5 minutes, but was awesome. No kneepads for Buddy, so this was all awesome punches and shtick. Buddy continiuesly cheap shots Lawler with his invisible foreign object and Lawler comes firing back. Ref bump ends it a little early but I loved this.

I think his show also had the Spike Huber/ Tommy Gilbert tag team who worked together amazingly well.

Michael St. John is announcing and ugh that is not good.

 

This starts with clips of Texas Dirt vs. Black Bart from MSC on 9/18/89 with Dirt winning the title and Dutch Mantell being able to come back to the area, which he does. Dutch comes out cutting a promo about where has been and shows a video of him driving Texas Dirt home. Marlin then comes out and demands Dutch give the belt back. This is extra material. Buddy is great here in everything he does both as chickenshit heel and bumping around for Lawler. Lawler would drop the strap and came out firing so Landell would hit Calhoun for the DQ. I’m on the fence as far as a nomination but this was fun for the short time it lasted.
